I am selling my 1991 Alfa Romeo164and I am going to feel an emptiness inside when she goes away.
I purchased the car in 2010 and had driven it for about 45,000 miles. It now has about 162,000 miles. It has been my daily driver and was used to take my son to school and for me to meet clients here in San Diego California. This car is drivable and I still used it once or twice a week...!!!
I believe to be the 3rd owner of the vehicle and have invested at least another $5000 + in its’ maintenance.
The car passes smog here in California and gets on average 19/21 mpg in the city and closer to 25 mpg on the freeway. It has been maintained by Rathmans auto works in Poway. He is a great mechanic for Alfas and other fine Italian cars. I have a stack of maintenance records about an 1.5 inchs thick. Oil changes have been done religiously every 3000 to 4ooo miles and I have done the bulk of them. The car drives very well and grips the road. The current sets of Hankook Tires have 8000 miles on them and feel great both on freeways and mountain roads.
The AC is working competently both in heat and cold. The doors all have a lighted red safety light and a floor courtesy light (Puddle light). This car also has a unique fog light at the rear of the vehicle which is very useful in dark parking situations. Rear center armrest folds nicely and includes a boot sock for skis. Front armrest works. You can always contact me at Gabriel Hernandez Photography here in San Diego or through Ebay with any questions you may have.
I will include 8 quarts of Kendall Synthetic and a filter with this sale.
SOME OF THE GOOD:
Original spare still holds air and tool kit is in the trunk.
I also have the CD with the mechanics manual in it.
Fixed rearward mirrors by cleaning contacts Yeay…
Installed two new Klipsch triaxial speakers that sound great with this stereo. All four speakers work really well with the unique stereo 4 corner bar adjustment.
Some of the major repairs made are as follows.
Manual transmission striped and rebuilt.
New clutch plate installed.
Radiator fan bearings replaced.
New spark plug cables.
New distributor cap
New Alternator and belt
New Catalytic converter
Rear muffler replaced 5 years ago
Oil pressure gauge sender and oil pressure light sender
Oxygen sensor
Replaced driver and right rear window regulators
SOME OF THE BAD:
Windshield needs replacing
Car needs Paint
Passenger front and Driver rear window regulators need replacing. They work randomly when the weather heats up.
There could be some engine oil leak and the same for the transmission, sadly too typical.
I have three of the original 4 telephone style hubcaps.
Gas cap needs to be mended. I pops open but hinge is broken.
