Description

Up for sale is a 1961 Alfa Romeo Spider Touring 2000 European model. The car was manufactured on the 25th of March 1961 and the car was sold on December second 1961 in Rome. I have more pictures but I am at the limit for the Ebay advert. I have spent a lot of time and money in restoring, but I am expecting to receive a reasonable price for the car lot. The value of these cars has sky rocked over the past few years.

The car has no title so I marked it as salvage in the add - Ebay has no option for no title.
The car and the parts come as is with no warranty. The buyer will have to arrange for shipping and movers to move the parts. I cannot help move the engine and it is very heavy. The engine also cannot sit on the ground without support or it will crush the oil pan. I will be available to help, but no heavy lifting for me anymore.
Many parts have been restored as you can see in the pics but there is still a fair amount to do.
The car is being offered through other channels so this auction maybe cancelled early. The first reasonable offer near my expectation will get the car and I will close the auction.
The engine has new pistons, new valves and guides, piston sleeves installed and ground, crank ground, new bearings and a Solex carb rebuilt. Many parts have been plated too so that they will not rust so easy. The engine stand is not included.
The gauges have been restored with new face plates and needles. The lot comes with a rare toolkit, correct jack and even all of the service books. There is also the sought after radio plate and pry bar.
The car comes with a bunch of metal work for restoration. New floor pans, sill frames, trunk floor, spare tire well and so on.
All correct electrics are present and the wiring harness is original and cleaned up. Some of the wires are a little hard due to the age of the jacket. The bullet contacts were all soldered. I added connectors for the front to rear harness connection and the windshield wiper connection - more reliable than the Alfa junctions of the time.
The car has rotted sills and trunk and all needs to be replaced. There are also dents and pitting in the body which needs to be removed or repaired. The bottom of the doors need work as well as the rear, the nose and wheel wells - all typical locations for these Alfas to rust.
The steering wheel is in the car as well as all of the front suspension parts and rear axle. The tires are in good shape and are only 4 years old.
There are more parts that I did not take pictures of like brake and fuel tubing, under dash levers, hub caps, bumper soft top frame - all need restoration or replacement.
What I know is missing windshield seat frames interior trim panels exterior chrome trim door upper panel brackets window support bracket
