Awesome provenance. Originally sold to Chrysler motors to reverse engineer the engine. I'm told it was the basis for the hemi but that's out of my wheelhouse. Then bought from Chrysler by a Chrysler engineer named Vaino Jack Vehko at 35,100 miles on November 10, 1967 in Royal Oaks MI after it was rebuilt after the reverse engineering. There are no repair records from his ownership, obviously, since he spent his entire career at Chrysler as an aircraft engineer developing engines, guided missiles and then the Jupiter missile system and the Saturn 1-B booster. Student of Werner von Braun. Moved on to Space Division in New Orleans. He did a rebuild at 48,000 miles. Then sold it toRobert Talbot Stern who was Chrysler's lobbyist in DC on May 21, 1974 at 55,700 miles. Vehko retired in 1976 in New Orleans as a NASA engineer. Robert sold it to me in 1998 at 69,000. He moved from Michigan to Connecticut and then to DC. Robert Talbot Stern gave me the provenance. But, it's not hard to figure out since Vehko kept a diary with his name on it. see the sample photograph. Robert kept complete repair records as have I. Currently checking the 1963 - 1967 period whenapparently owned by Chrysler itself out with the Museo Alfa Romeo in Milan. I've garaged it in Arizona since 2005. Vehko kept notes on every drive and oil change. Comes with original manual and some sales stuff. Everything works -- probably could use new speakers for the original equipment AM radio. The rear brakelight had to be re-wired because Alfa thought it was a good idea to run the original through the transmission. Only four years of production of this vehicle. -- this was the first year. Note that this is a daily driver. Not fitted out as a museum car. But, everything works, everything original. Has expected wear and tear of original vehicle that has been used as a driver. As an example, the Pirelli spare tire has never been used but the Pirelli's on the carhave about 15,000 miles. The rugs were replaced in 1969 at 45,770 miles. Nothing fancy. And, who would dress this up?
