1982 alfa romeo spider
Description
Runs great, recently restored and well cared for. No head gasket issues, recent suspension work, new timing sensor and rebuilt starter coil. Silicone vacuum hose kit installed and tires have >80% tread left. New top, clean title and all the receipts.
The 1982 model year is the best in my opinion because it was the last year with all the chrome and the clean tail (no rubber "duck tail" spoiler) but also had the newer Bosch electronic fuel injection instead of the older Spica mechanical fuel injection - so more efficient and reliable. I've babied this car and hate to see it go, but I've got kids and too many cars and I need the room in my garage.
Only problems: The driver's side electric window switch doesn't work. Tried to fix it but couldn't trace down the short so instead, I bought the emergency hand crank which works perfectly for that window. I keep it in the glove box. Also, it has the typical Alfa synchro-mesh wear on second gear so requires a slight pause when putting it into second. There is a nickel size spot of bubbling in the paint on the bottom rear corner of the driver's side rocker panel that likely means some rust is starting to form there and will need to be ground and repainted to keep it from spreading. Dashboard is cracked (pictured) but I have an after market "dashcap" sold by International Autoparts/Canterline Alfa ($75) that I'll include with the sale.
