Description

1966 AMC Rambler American Convertible. VIN A6KA75B104137....1 of 1601 convertibles made in 1966.. good condition overal, runs and starts smooth, drives straight as an arrow, no rust whatsoever....painted approximately 10 years ago with new convertible top.
The following is a list of parts and work done down thru the years....I`ve owned it since 1997 and have a clear Virginia title: Rebuilt nonoriginal 232 cu inline six cylinder, rebuilt M15 automatic transmission, both rebuilds have less than 600 miles on them...Upgraded with Ford disc brakes, new brake and fuel lines, new starter, 60 amp one wire alternator, GM style electronic distributor, 3 row radiator, Custom instrument panel with Dolphin gauges, painless wiring style wiring harness.....Seats are nonoriginal leathe, the drivers seat is electric...convertible top works as it should but has nonoriginal 2 way switch....vacuum style windshield wiper motor approx. 10 years old, gas tank has been replaced with a Ford Mustang style...gas gauge reads full constantly, I have a new sending unit that I haven`t installed...The front grill is from a 1968 American but I have the original 1966 grill.....Tires have less than 100 miles on them, rims are slotted AMC as found on Javelins....Front end was rebuilt approx. 10 years ago and it does have power steering. Bumpers are in good shape but are not pristine and could use rechroming. Carpet was replaced 10 years ago but has faded. New shocks in the front and air shocks on the rear. Pioneer radio and Sony speakers in front doors.
Needs a new convertible top boot cover, I`m including the original but its in rough shape. The rear seat arm rests are included but need repainting and are not installed and finally, the door weather strips are included but need installed. It could use a weather strip kit for the convertible top as well and are still available thru American Parts Depot. Sun visors are included but not installed, the pot metal attachment brackets are broken.
This is a cool car and can be picked up and driven anywhere. It`s not pristine but somewhere in the middle. It has dings on the paint but the body is solid and rust free. It has been stored inside for the last 22 years but not driven maybe more than 1000 miles the entire time I`ve owned it. My sons are grown and do not have an interest in it. I will help with shipping but cost and arrangements are completely the buyer`s responsibility. $500 due upon within auction conclusion and balance due prior to any exchange of title or movement of vehicle from my premises. Ask Questions as this is sold as is with no refunds.
