1967 AMC Rogue Convertible V8 4 Speed. Project
I bought this car from an AMC fan in Denver in 2000 andtrailered it to Minnesota. It was drivenforfun in nice weather for a few years. It’s been in storage, indoors, for maybe 16 years. But, now It’s time to sell it and all myhobby cars. When it was parked therewere no issues with the car. It ran well, drove nice and the top worked. Assume that the car needs totalrestoration now, although it did start up right away last fall, which is the last time I tried.
This is a very rare car. There were only 921 Rogue convertibles made in 1967 and very few of themwere factory 290 V8s 4bbl with a four speed on the floor. The VIN number is: A7KM77D100185which matches. The Engine tag 803N24 decodes to 290 4bbl built on the 24th of March1966. It has manual brakes, manualsteering and an AM radio. It's still the factory colors which are HialeahYellow with a black top. It’s not atwin grip rear end. The car is basically complete and even has the hood emblem.
The bad news is that while the car was sitting, the frontbrake shoes are sized to the drums. I'm guess the wheel cylinders leaked as the master cylinder was empty.I have not been able toget the front wheels to spin freely. The carstarts, but, it won’t move on its own. This will make loading it up to take it home a challenge. It is on dollies and can be rolled to the openingof the building that it is stored in. A trailer could be backed into place, but, it might take a winch to pull it up onthe trailer.
I’m sorry that all the pictures have the car with years ofdust and that I don't have any pictures showing the whole car. There are no major dents or body damage other then the rust, mostly in the rear quarters. There is some rust visible in the trunk floor as well. It will be a really cool car when restored.
If you buy the car, please be ready to come and get it before the middle of October. Once it snows, it's not going to be easy to get it out of the storage building.
