1966 AMC Marlin 3.8L Inline 6 Overhead Cam Standard Transmission with Overdrive
Description
I have two vintage cars and that is one vintage car too many, so I am reluctantly selling this rare 1966 AMC Marlin. I bought this from a dealership onStatenIsland called Roverclassics.com. They told me that this car was a Montana barn find. I have included the many pictures they took of the car: Item Photos click to enlarge I bought this classic car a couple of years ago for $10,000. The engine runs exceptionally quietly and smoothly (my senior automotive teacher tells me that his father's ran the same way, so it must be in the design), and although I only drive the car to the coffee shop on the weekends (I doubt that I have put 200 miles on this car since I purchased it), I have driven it on the highway several times to stretch its legs, and it is quite fast. I have put some parts into the vehicle, included a hydraulic stop lamp switch (that's what they used back then), a vacuum advance, temperature sending unit, and a PCV valve. The clutch plate has become contaminated (chatters) from a cracked bell housing. I acquired a perfect bell housing, but haven't had time to put it in; it will of course come with the car. I noticed that previous body work on the front and rear right fenders is less-than-perfect (although it isn't noticeable in the pictures), and the front bumper needs to be reset or possibly straightened. This car is perfect for a serious collector because it is very close to being finished.
