I am the second owner of this all original AMC Ambassador Brougham, and I have lost a garage space, so I need to sell it because I don't want to keep it outside. Therefore, I do not have a reserve because it deserves a new owner with a garage.
The bad news. The vinyl roof is faded and dried out, and it is peeling off the car. A section blew off during a wind storm, so it needs to be replaced. Because the car is all original, I will let the next owner decide whether to replace it or not.
The Good News
The car was undercoated and garage kept its entire life, so there is no rust. The underbody is clean. The interior is in amazing condition. The paint shines nicely, but shows its age for a garage-kept car.
Everything works on it, including the AC with a new temperature control valve and fan (I found the last one available).
The car has:
Recored radiator
New brakes
FIVE new whitewall tires
New timing chain and cover and gasket
New water pump
New battery
ALL new belts, hoses, and gaskets including valve cover gaskets
ALL fluids and filters replaced
Rebuilt carburetor
Cleaned and sealed gas tank
New shocks
The front suspension is completely rebuilt
This car has the heavy duty suspension package to accomodate a tow package.
360 V-8 2 Barrel
Heavy Duty Suspension - it handles better than any car this size I have driven.
Heavy Duty Cooling.
Four-wheel power drum brakes and power steering
The paint and upholstery are all original.
This is a 45-year-old car, so it whistles and rattles like any car that old that has not been restored.
