The Classic Car Gallery 2316 Fairfield Ave. Bridgeport, CT 06605 203-446-3477 1985 ASTON MARTIN VANTAGE VOLANTE “Prince of Wales” “7 LITER X-PACK, BEAUTIFUL RESTORATION, 5-SPEED MANUAL, THE BEST!” VIN SCFV81C5ETL15356 The car on offer here is a concours restored, 1985 ASTON MARTIN V8 VOLANTE with a 7.0 LITER BIG BORE X-PACK SPECIFICATION --York Red with Fawn leather with Burgundy piping, Beige carpeting and a Tan Mohair top. With the upgraded 7.0 liter v8 engine, 5-speed manual gearbox and only 18,000 miles from new; this Aston checks all the boxes for collectibility. This original European Specification V8 Volante has been in long term since 1999. This V8 Volante was converted to a Prince of Wales (PoW) specification; front valance, 16” Ronal factory wheels and a ZF manual 5-speed gearbox. In 2001 the car received a full glass-out, bare metal repaint ($33,600) in its correct original color, and all chrome was re-plated and trim refinished per factory spec; the car still looks fresh. At the same time a new interior was completed by Coachtrim LLC ($23,000) featuring new, correct, Connolly hides and Wilton carpeting throughout. Completing the restoration work the interior wood trim was refinished and the audio system was upgraded. In 2004 the original engine upgraded to 7 liter X-PACK specification. The $49,000 build was comprehensive including a 4340 billet crankshaft, ported and polished cylinder heads, custom ground camshafts, custom forged JE pistons, custom Carrillo connecting rods, ceramic clutch and 4 bolt mains. Carburetors were upgraded and jetted to X-Pack specification and a custom ignition system installed. Large bore custom headers and a large bore custom exhaust compliment the build. To manage the increased torque of the new motor the differential carrier bolts were strengthened and a 3.73 posi differential was installed. This Volante has been a two-time Greenwich Concours participant and is accompanied by an impressive catalogue of long time ownership maintenance and restoration records in addition to the factory books, jack and tools.
