1962 Austin Healey 3000 Tri Carb, Rare
Description
Rare 1962 Austin Healey 3000 Tri Carb that is a great driver. Restored in the early 80's and always garaged. Car runs straight, handles well, with great oil pressure and runs cool. All excellent Gold Face gauges, all electrics work except right rear tail lamp that I need to look into. Car has side shift transmission with Overdrive, downshifting to 2nd needs to be double clutched, OD works but intermittently. The rare Tri Carb engine sounds great and looks to be all original.Engine number matches the 1962 BT7 register (see photo). Car has rare steel wheels with hub caps. Brakes and clutch work fine. Interior is really nice with excellent back seat, nice carpet, door cards and excellent fitting newer top with clear window. Excellent set of side curtains in trunk too. Tires have good tread. I can't be certain of the exact mileage but the car has been with only 2 owners since 1985. So, it is possible the mileage may be correct. The frame is really solid as seen in the pictures, body panels look good as well. The inner sill on the drivers side will need repaired eventually, but is still solid for a driver. Please see the pictures of the under side to see the few repairs for yourself. All panels fit well, doors shut tight, no rattles, shakes, etc while driving. If you are looking for a nice, drive as you restore, 3000 Big Healey that is complete....and a Tri Carb, this is for you!!!! BT7 Tri Carbs are getting harder to find in this condition. I have a clear PA title to transfer. I try to describe all my items as best I can so there are no surprises. If you have any questions or want to come to inspect the car, call 814-931-0627. I will assist in shipping provided that buyer makes all arrangements well in advance. The car is for sale locally and I will end the auction if sold. The reserve is extremely low for a running, driving 3000 Tri Carb in this condition. So...bid away. I'm sure you won't be disappointed!!!
