Description
I stopped the previous sale in order to change some of the photosto better ones of the under areas. When someone bids, Ebay locks the sale so additional photos cannot be posted. The only way to get around this feature is stop the sale and start over. So for clarity, here we are.
We are selling this car for the owner. This true two seater 1960 Austin Healey BN7 roadster with 47622 miles showing has been carefully stored inside a dry warehouse in Houston Texas for many years from around the late 1980's. It was running when it was stored and is not running now. The engine cylinders had the plugs removed and oil squirted into them from time to time whilst stored. It has the side curtains. Overdrive transmission. Front disc brakes. There is no convertible top but the top frame and top parts are there. The car has a vintage Moto-Lita wooden steering wheel and vintage non original mag wheels likely from the 1960's or early 1970's. The Smiths gauges are all original. Every big Healey has rust as they were born with rust. This said, the frame is typically ugly with peeling paint and surface rust and appears very solid. The doors open and close well and do not bind. There is no sign of aftermarket undercoat used by some to hide rust. I can see no rust holes in the frame. The rear fender "dog legs" appear to have had an old repair as the paint is discolored. The toe boards need replacing. The floors are ugly under the carpets but appear solid. Most Healeys that have not had this done need new dog leg repair panels fitted. Behind the front sway bar a past owner cut two small holes in the frame around an inch in diameter on each side for reasons unknown, probably for an old modification that does not seem to have been done. It has a cool vintage racing gas cap flip open style. Luggage rack for those on the go. The BN7 is among the scarcest and has the most attractive styling of Austin Healey models as there are no unusable tiny rear seats. With the car are several original glass Lucas lenses for the signal lamps. The trafficator/horn switch feels good. The heater blower motor is there. Has old Michelin red stripe radial tires. No spare.
This car was not dragged out of a swamp, barn or backyard. It was stored inside a metal building with doors and concrete floors. The car has not been disassembled and thrown back together in order to sell it. Any questions, just ask.
We are donating a lot of interesting items to raise funds for our favorite charity, Texas Husky Rescue.10% of the proceeds for this Austin Healey go to Texas Husky Rescue. Have a look at our other items.
This 1960 Austin Healey 3000 BN7 is beingsold as is where is. Our firm has serviced, restored, rebuilt and sorted out British cars since 1976 in Houston, Texas. These days most of our parts business is supplying new Rolls-Royce and Bentley parts to hundreds of shops and individuals worldwide but our workshop rebuilds cars such as any Rolls-Royce, Bentley, MG, Triumph,Jaguar, AustinHealey and other British carsbuilt from 1946 onwards as time allows. We have worked with many Rolls-Royce, Bentley. Morgan, Alvis, Aston Martin, Morris, TVR, Bristol, various Austin and 1950's-1980's Mercedes Benz and various Ferrari, Maserati and Lamborgini cars over the years because we like pasta now and then. We rebuild many assemblies from 1950-1980 cars that owners send in for this service. Over the long years we have been working in Houston, as various car dealers and parts houses in Texas and elsewhere went out of business, we would buy their parts stocks and as a result have a great many NOS parts for many British cars.
There are two used front wire wheel hubs that go with the car. They both look good.
