This car was recently purchased from it's long term older gentlemen owner who wasn't using the car much because of his health issues. This car wears an older restoration, but still presents well in very good overall condition, both cosmetically and mechanically.The body on this car is overall very good. There are a few spots of lifting paint around the headlamps. There are a few usual chips and some fine cracking here and there. The existing paintwork is of modest quality, but still presents perfectly well for an attractive driver, with not really a need for a respray. Panel fit and gapping is pretty average for a Bugeye.The upgraded 1275cc engine is very clean and starts easily on the button with no smoke or noises, good oil pressure(50-65 psi), and propels the car nicely down the road. The car has a custom twin downdraft carb fitted. The car is also fitted with the desirable "rib case" gearbox. Brakes are good with the desirable front disc setup fitted. The suspension and steering feels taught, giving it that enjoyable go-cart feel...The car's interior trim is in very nice condition with shadow blue vinyl seat coverings, a black carpet kit, aluminum frame covers, custom English black padded steering wheel, black top in good condition, and accompanying aluminum sidecurtain set. The dashboard is nicely covered in matching blue vinyl and all of the instruments work correctly.The car is fitted with an attractive period-looking set of Minilite alloy wheels with quality Michelin radial tires. The car handles and rides very well.The car's underside shows evidence of being an original light blue car, with lots of the original paint and undercoating still present. There has been some metal repairs to the driver's side floors, with the rest of the car looking very solid indeed. The main frame rails are nice and straight.Overall, a very attractive, nice, solid driving Bugeye Sprite. These cars are loved the world over, providing lots of fun with their go-cart ride and endearing cheeky looks. This car still presents very well wearing an older restoration and driving fine. Very good value in this middle price bracket.
