Description

You are bidding on a completely restored, low mileage and low owner 1961 Austin Healey BN7 (2 Seater) MKII (Tri-Carb).Finished in Healey Blue Duotone with Ivory White Coves over Blue Leather Interior with White piping.Exactly as it came from the Factory September 5th 1961 and perfectly documented on the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate accompanying the car (see photo).

Introduced in March of 1961, the MKII 3000 with its 3 SU carburetors was developed to further improve performance and continue with the success that BMC was having in International rallies. In addition to the performance improvements, a new vertical grille replaced the previous horizontal slats. After producing for only 1 year, the last MKII BN7 roadster left the factory in March 1962 and making this BN7 1 of the only 355 ever to be produced.

This particular car being VIN# H-BN7-L/15112, a correct older restoration, completely documented, and numbers matching in the best colors, makes it one of the rarest, most sought after and collectable of all Austin Healeys.

As can be seen in the photos, the exterior of the car is in very nice condition.Although not a fresh restoration, the paint shines as new with hardly a defect to be found. The chrome components and wheels are in similar condition.Comes with complete and correct weather equipment (a flawless blue canvas top, matching blue canvas tonneau cover and essentially brand new unused side curtains). As you can see in the underbody photos, the painted frame, floors and all components match the level of detail and restoration of the rest of the car.

The interior of the car (cockpit, seats, carpet, door panels and dash) are also in beautiful condition showing little to no wear since the restoration. The blue leather seats are themselves simply stunning.Floors under the carpets are Healey Blue resembling the rest of the car and all factory trimmed Armacord areas were correctly restored and show well.

Mechanically the car runs and drives as would be expected. It starts easily with electronic ignition, idles great with all 3 carburetors in sync, sounds fantastic with stainless steel exhaust and runs very strong with the Transmission, Brakes and Overdrive all working as they should.Lights, gauges, etc. are also all working properly. The engine compartment is neat and tidy, well detailed and ready for the next show.

Dunlop chrome wire wheels are essentially flawless while riding on practically new P185/65 R15 Pirelli P4 Radial tires.Spare wheel is chrome and shod with a BF Goodrich 4 Ply Polyester tire.

In addition to the official British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate documenting its originality, the car comes with lots of cool period accessories.Included are the chrome Badge Bar and badges, Lucas Ranger driving lights, Moto-Lita wood rim steering wheel and Lucas PL700 Tripod headlights.
