Thanks for stopping by to take a look at our very cool 1962 Austin Healey Sprite. Built for just a few years, the iconic Sprite is one of a kind. This great car was owned by a pilot for over 35 years and kept to the exacting standards pilots require.

Rarity

Increasingly rare in unmodified form, the Sprite is a joy to drive and easy to own.

Exterior.

Beautiful red paint is holding up very well and buffs out nice and shiny. The convertible top has a few wear spots that may need attention but realistically, this is a top down car. Side curtains and top bar are in excellent condition.

Wheels, Tires

13” standard wheels with Austin Healey caps. Newer tyres. Newer spare tyre.

Engine

948 cc stock motor, we believe. She runs very healthy and could have been upgraded to a 1275. Runs excellent. Upgraded to electric fuel pump.

Transmission

4 Speed Manual transmission. Nice clutch. Austin Healey shift knob

Braking, Steering

Brakes are excellent and operating properly. Everything looks new or close to new condition. Steering is precise and on point.

Battery

Trim

The chrome bumpers are nice as are the many stainless trim pieces.

Glass

The glass is in excellent condition.

Interior

Excellent black upholstery trimmed with red piping. Nice carpets, dash and door panels. Gauges, lights, switches work properly.

Odometer

The odometer shows 00847 miles and operates properly. We suspect the odometer has rolled over.

DMV

The California title is clear and all documentation is included. The vehicle has been on non-op since 1997. California Historic Vehicle plates! No smog is required for California residents. Very low cost Antique registration for most US States.

Documentation

Not much documentation came with the car aside from years worth of registration receipts. A build book with some documentation is included.

The details contained in this listing are based on our review of the vehicle and any errors or omissions are unintentional. Please keep in mind that this is a 57 year old used car. It will need periodic attention just as any classic automobile does. It is not a new car and will not be fresh and perfect like that new soul sucking Camry your Aunt Betty drives. If that’s what you are after, this is not your era, nor your car so please move on to something boring. Like a Prius.
