I am a private seller offering a car that I have lovingly restored over the past 30 years. I am not normally on ebay, which is why I have such a low feedback number. I am a real person offering a real car and would love for you to call me at eight oh five 570 5310 or come drive it before bidding on the listing. Contact me to set this up, I am available every day except for Saturday 10/5.
This is a tight, mechanically sound, weekend driver: fun, responsive and reliable. Although not a “concourse” car, very nearly so.I bought this “big six” (BJ7) in the mid-eighties from the second owner, an Arizona car. The speedometer wasn’t functional but I estimated it had around 90k miles on it. The motor and drive train were sound but the overdrive didn’t work and the body and electrics were somewhat neglected. I slowly worked on cleaning it up over the years and have put about 3000 miles on it. I bought it for my wife but she never really drove it. Below are the things I have done together with the pluses and minuses.

N/O= “not original”
• Brand new 2-toned metallic paint (subtle)
Midnight blue with lower panel dark-charcoal inset
• New front main bearing seal
• Rebuilt transmission and overdrive
• Refurbished original instruments (all)
• New speedo and tach drive cables
• Full brakes service
• Refurbished radiator
• Differential input seal and lash adjustment
• New rear springs
• Rebuilt carburetors
• Accelerator/carburetor linkage and bushings
• Front wheel bearings
• Steering-box adjustment
• New stainless steel spoke wheels, new competition tires, new knock-off hubs
• Muffler modified to highest clearance (N/O)
• All electric clean and in excellent working order (no small feat with Lucas!)
Body and trim:
• New lighter, stronger, lower profile custom bumpers (N/O)
• All new soft top and newly aligned framework
• Trunk/boot rain gutter trim (N/O)
• New trim/weather-strip throughout
• Sealed weather strip ends and new material at voids (N/O)
“Concourse” quality interior:
• All new custom glove-leather seats, dash and appointments (black with red piping)
Doors, floors, and transmission “tunnel” sound and heat insulated (N/O)
Rear seat pods (useless and unsafe) now a cargo seat/bench (N/O)
convertible to larger quick-change storage area
Custom storage bin behind “tunnel” (N/O)
• Custom hardwood burl trim (N/O): -Instrument surround
-Defrost vents
-Door tops/windows
Custom wood steering wheel: original spokes and turn-indicators hub/horn button (N/O)• Vintage competition seat belts
• All gauges reconditioned; fitted with LED backlights (you can actually see the gauges)
• Back up light switch (N/O)
• Electric “look-alike” window washer controls (N/O)
• Full all-weather pile custom seamless cockpit carpeting (dark charcoal) (N/O)
• Full all-weather pile custom seamless boot/trunk carpeting (dark charcoal) (N/O)
• 12-volt battery quick removal separator (N/O)
• Knock-off hub fitted wrench with “keeper” (N/O)
• Simple spare-tire hold down (N/O)
• Carpeted/hinged jack compartment
Modifications make it “non-stock"
• New paint is mostly “concourse” quality with some minor flaws: A+ to B+
• Chrome is some new, some not: also A+ to B+
• Bodywork has a few slight imperfections
• Original windscreen has a small corner delamination
• Passenger side roll up window has a ½” deep abrasion
• Brand new rear window has slight clouding and minor dimples
• Gear box still a bit worn, especially 1st/2nd cluster (double clutching required)
• Clutch is a “long throw”: difficult for short person (original design issue)
• No battery shut off switch
• Exhaust is loud when “backing down”
This well loved classic is a clean, sound, reliable driver; no tricks, no hidden flaws. I have babied it for many years and now it is time to pass her on to a new loving owner.
