3000 MK III - Only 1K Miles since Restoration - Exceptional
Description
1967 AUSTIN HEALEY 3000 MK III BJ8 --Healey Blue Metallic with Blue interior, Blue carpeting and Blue soft top, Exceptional photo documented restoration from an original 74k mile car, 3.0 liter 6-cylinder engine, 4-speed manual transmission with overdrive. 1967 marked the last year and final version of the “big” Healey, the 3000 Mark III, series BJ8. The 3-litre, 6-cylinder, twin SU carburetors engine produced 150bhp, which was the most of any model in the Austin Healey lineup. The Phase II Healey 3000 improvements included a revised exhaust system, a revised rear suspension to increase ride height for improved ground clearance, and a vacuum brake booster as standard. The 3000 Mark III series BJ8 was the only model in the range of Austin Healeys that featured a lavish cockpit including a dashboard of burled walnut veneer, a center console with the curved windscreen, wing windows, and roll-up side windows which were introduced just before on the series BJ7 model. It is clearly the most comfortable and most luxurious of all Austin Healeys. This BJ8 was purchased by the previous owner in 2005 and with 74,000 orignal miles. It was sent immediately to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania marque specialist, The British Motor Corporation for a complete restoration. To date, this Healey has been collector owned and cared for in quite an extensive collection. It has accumulated approximately 1,000 miles since total restoration, buy has always been excercised and serviced regardless of use. This “big Healey” is complete and ready for show or touring pleasure.
