Description
This Austin Healy by Saxon is very true to actual design standards of the Healy. Even though it's VW powered, the back is very well proportioned. It has Porsche style wheels and hubcaps, which fit with the VW mill. The trim is in very good shape, although there are some dings in the bumpers, as shown in the pictures. The body has a few stress crack areas, but none bad enough that it warranted fixing. I have a set of top bows, although I don't believe they have ever been installed.
Now to the good part..... This puppy drives great. The steering is tight, and the brakes work great. The engine was low mileage when installed in 1982, and has been driven just seven thousand plus miles since. It has a Borla style exhaust system that sounds great. It has a low, throaty sound, that is quite pleasing. The gauges all work properly, although I haven't messed with the radio. There are roll-up windows, which I have never raised, so I will, and post the picture. The tires are probably the original units, and still have lots of tread, BUT, I certainly wouldn't trust them at speed. My wife, who owns this puppy, only drives it locally, and not on the freeway. The wipers and all lights work fine..... This car is a blast to drive through the countryside !!!

On May-10-18 at 18:28:17 PDT, seller added the following information:I have checked with our local tire shop, and they can provide tires, mounted and balanced for just under $300.00.....These tires are getting hard to come by, just so you know....
I have also added a picture of the top bows. They are pretty simple. I do not have the top material, although the top is pretty simple, and could be done by most any upholstery shop.
On May-14-18 at 11:51:21 PDT, seller added the following information:Well dang !!! pursuant to a a question about the windows, I decided to roll them up. Good new is that they are there, but one is severely cracked. No big deal. Bad new is that the mechanism on the drivers side is buggered. The picture shows the drivers side up. I will fix both unless someone want to take it as is and tackle themselves. I would naturally drop the price accordingly..... The crank mechanism is the stock VW, but modified somewhat due to the configuration. I would not sell this puppy without letting the buyer know. I hate surprises, and figure you do to....
On May-14-18 at 11:59:56 PDT, seller added the following information:Another question popped up, about the title.....The critter is registered in Idaho as an Austin Healy, body type CV, and the model as Saxon......
