1964 Austin Mini Cooper S
Description
For sale iconic 1964 Austin Mini Cooper S. This is the one with the 72hp engine which is the highest rated output for a Cooper S. If you are looking at this is because you already know what this is and it's historic significance. The car comes with a Heritage certificate attesting to it's originality. The car came out of California, still have the black and yellow plates. I have tried to contact the former owner who had the car restored but I have been unsuccessful in finding him.According the Heritage certificate it's current paint color is not original. Other things that deviate from originality are: wooden steering wheel, wood shift knob, gas pedal, and Talbot style rear view mirrors. Not original but period correct accessories. The car has been in storage for several years (since I purchased it in 2012).Because the car has been idle for this period of time a few things will have to be done to get it roadworthy:Replace fuel lines, fuel filter, clean carburetors (2), replace battery, clean fuel tanks(2).Check brakes and clutch operation. A tune up wouldn't be a bad idea. The driver's door handle needs to be fixed as it is loose and one of the door hinges needs to be fixed as the door sags a little.Overall the car is VERY clean and no rust.10/31/2018 Please Note that I have added the VIN number and a photo of the Heritage Certificate.I will take more pictures tomorrow and post them. If there is anything in particular you want for me to photograph please let me know by the end of today. Please contact me to make an appointment to inspect the car. I highly suggest that you inspect the car prior to bidding.Car is being sold as is where is. No warranties offered or expressed.
