The Bentley S2 was produced from 1959-1962 and a total of only 1920 were produced.
It was Factory equipped with the Rolls Royce L Series 6.2L Aluminum V8 which was the same used in the Silver Cloud
It is a Right Hand Drive and is equipped with Power Steering, Power Brakes and Power Windows (which all 4 work).
It only has 101,145 Original Miles since new.
This particular Bentley has had three owners since new.
Its First owner purchased it new in England and owned the vehicle for 6 years.
She had Mink Seat Covers (snaps still exist) installed from new but would not part with them when she sold it.
She sold it to a Pam-Am Pilot who imported it into the United States.
He had it repainted it in the early 1970's....which is the same paint it wears to this day.
He then sold it to its current owner who has owned it since 1978....almost 40 years ago.
The Original Bill of Sale from 1978 to its current titled owner ......comes with the Bentley.
The current owner lived in both sunny and dry Nevada and California over the 40 years and always stored it in a climate controlled garage.
He owned a Resort and used this Bentley for weddings and special events only.
To this day he gives it some exercise a few times a month or for special occasions in the Palm Springs, California area.
He said he always kept it well maintained with fluid changes every year.
Now at 75 years of age he decided it was time for someone else to find some enjoyment from it.
As mentioned the Bentley has had only one repaint (in early 1970's) and still has its full Original Factory interior.
It is extremely Original with its factory drivetrain and the Engine and Transmission cases have never been cracked open let alone rebuilt.
The Engine is quiet and runs out beautifully and the Transmission shifts smoothly.
There is no evidence of any Transmission Fluid leaks or drips....and as far as Engine oil....it sweats a little when hot but very minor a few drops.
It does run nice and cool even in 100 degree weather.....he said he had the cooling system flushed and serviced about 2 years ago.
The Brake Master Cylinders and Servo was serviced last year and all brought up to a good braking standard.
The Exterior Paint does have some patina with some minor blemishes, touchups and minor hazing and checking in some spots ....but respectable.
But what you see is what you get.....with nothing hidden under fresh paint.
The painted pinstripe is still in nice shape.
It is obvious from the spectacular body gaps and fit that this Bentley has never experienced any serious damage.
The Glass is all in great condition.
The Chrome, Stainless, Emblems and Trim all are excellent as you can see in the photos....the quality of the Factory finish and material obviously helped it withstand 50 years of life and still have a great shine with very little oxidization.
The Tires are about 8 years old the owner said.....reproduction Wide Whites which look period correct.
The Interior is all Original and remarkable given its 50 years of age, a testimony to the care and attention its been given by all its owners.
The leather interior really has no serious wear, tears or cracks....its just a bit stiff and surface cracking from age.
The faux long haired carpet is fastened over what appear to be the original matts in the car.
The Burled Walnut interior trim is nicer than 15 year old Jaguars which have significant cracking and flaking of the clear coat.
This Wood is all VERY nice and Original....including the pull out and fold down trays.
The flower vases are both intact at the top of the interior door posts.
The steering wheel does not have ONE crack!
The Headliner is in fabulous shape.
The Chassis is ALL ORIGINAL and even still has the factory leather covers buckled around the leaf springs and other chassis components.
The frame and floor pans are totally solid with only some minor surface rust and oxidization.
The Chassis did have some undercoating (possibly factory) which is 50% still there and the metal is all well preserved (the Desert climate also helps).
It comes with its Original service manuals, full factory tool kit, original jack and what appears to be the Original spare tire. Remarkable
These cars simply ooze opulence and style...there is something unique about arriving to your destination in a Vintage Bentley and the valet
