Description

I purchased this car from a Mechanic in North Carolinawho restoresGerman cars at a speed and restoration shop called "Transport Werks" inRaleigh, NC in 2015. This car was his daily driver back and forth to the shop and he was able to do all the work below at the shop as a perk... Below is a description of everything the previous owner has done to the car before I purchased it at the shop he works at.. I myself am a BMW enthusiast and have owned a dozen classic's like E30's, E28's, E36's but this hands down was the best built and most fun car I've driven and owned. The car didn't need much when I purchased it, the speedometer was broken so I replaced it with a 140mph speedo pulled from a BMW Bavaria, I also replaced all the non working cluster bulbs. The car had blown speakers and an old headset, I replaced the all the speakers and wireswith brand new JBL's as well as a new Kenwood Bluetooth head-unit, The car had a few cracks in the dash so I purchased a molded dash cap that makes the dash look like new, replaced the brakes and front rotors when I purchased the car. Everything works in this car and I drove it back from NC to Brooklyn NY without any issues (9hr drive). The car will come with avintage Momo hardwood steering wheel as seen in the photos and a custom hand madeweighted hard wood shift knob... I also did many little things the car needed like it was missing inside door handle which I replaced, glove box door was missing so I sourced a nice one to replace, had no speaker covers so I got some stock e21 covers, new alternator with bushings, tail light and side marker lenses were all cracked so I replaced those with stock ones in very good shape, trunk lock was broken so I had a local locksmith repair it, new cam seal, New shifter bushings,K&N conefilter toreplaced the old one, made stock BMW key to replace the cheap Chinese made key. The car has virtually no rust at all, only a small area behind the left rear wheel where mud flaps should have been and a small spot near one of the pop out windows.. It's very fixable and I covered the rust with (Eastwood Rust Encapsulater to prevent any spread) but other than that it is very clean inside and out. I would say the inside is a 9/10 and the outside is a 8/10, of course with the understanding that it's over 30 years old so it does have a few minor scratches and dings on the body but barely noticeable, the paint is original single stage and I recently had it detailed. I will also include hundreds of dollars worth in spare parts that this car does not need at this time..... Brand new in box H&R sport lowering springs, Sport Bilstien Shocks/Struts with less than 3k miles on them, new intercooler with new piping, new thermostat andfan belt, interior parts as back up in case something brakes, ensa tail pipe tip, I will also include the molded dash cap, extra head light beams, extra set of BMW wipers, oil filter and some other parts.

If you have any questions or want to setup an appointment to test drive the car just message me with your contact information and I will call you... Or you can call or txt me anytime at 347-893-9362

Descriptionof what was done by the previous owner;

Mistu TD-04 13c turbo from volvo 740, using stock 5 psi wastegate
-k-jet fuel injection setup from 83 volvo 240 with a b21t
-timing boost retard is accomplished using a vacuum advance/boost retard canister from 83 volvo 240
-Very large and efficient intercooler from Audi 200 quattro 20v turbo
-stainless turbo header for BMW 2002 turbo with stainless ARP manifold bolts
-i removed the oil pan and welded on a oil return for the turbo. while i had the pan off i put a fresh set of standard rod bearings in. the crank measured perfectly and had no scratches.
i tuned the turbo system and fuel pressures and timing to be reliable with no chance of detonation. it is tuned for 5 psi of boost using at least 89 octane fuel (i always use 93).
-VDO boost gauge installed, the car boosts hard and the afr's starts at about 10.5 at very low revs at 5 psi and never gets leaner the 12.5 under wide open throttle, it cruises in 5th at about 14.8-15.5 at very light throttle going about 75mph. these are great number especially considering this is a entirely mechanical fuel injection system!
This is a factory IS model car which means it has the following
-3.90 Limited Slip differential 25%
-23mm front sway bar and 19mm rear. I just installed poly bushes on these.
-Recaro interior
-BMW iS front air dam
-Sports suspension with increased diameter front stabilizer bar and the addition of a rear stabilizer bar
-dual operation sun roof (works perfectly and doesnt leak a drop!)
-deluxe tool kit
-fog lights
-Most importanly it is has a Getrag 5speed! (I changed the gear oil to royal purple)
aside from all the turbo work i replaced tons of stuff on the car including.
-new bosch fuel pump assembly
-new fuel accumulator
-new continental fuel line throughout the entire car
-new fuel filter
-new injectors and stainless injector lines
-new radiator, water pump, thermostat and all cooling lines
-new high output alternator from a e30 318i including new poly alternator bushes
-battery was relocated to the trunk and all new cables and ends were installed
-new reman starter
-new bosch red coil with taylor 8mm plug wires.new cap and rotor. NGK plugs gapped to .022"
-totally custom exhaust with 3" mandrel bent downpipe to 2.5" exhaust and magnaflow stainless muffler.
-new KYB gas struts all around
-new control arms and bushes
-new poly rack and pinion bushes
-ALPINA style 4130 chassis reinforcement was welded on below the radiator. this connects the ends of the unibody frame and reduces chassis twists under hard cornering
-the brakescalipersbeen totally rebuilt includingall lines.
.new drums, cylinders, shoes and all lines in the rear.
-has new 15"x8" zero offset wheels on it, the are hub centric and dont shake.
-new kumho tires. this car is extremely grippy and easy to drive at its limit.
-new driveshaft center bearing. changed the transmission output shaft seal at the same time.
-changed the diff oil to royal purple
-new front wheels bearings and seals.
-new clutch master and slave cylinders.
-new engine mounts
-new strut mounts all around
this car starts right up every time, drive great, stops great, handles amazingly. 170hp 130MPH top speed
all accesories work as they should. very hot heat.NO A/C as it was deleted to fit the Turbo.
ready to drive as is for years.

I will start the Auction at $4,500

The buyer is responsible for vehicle pickup or shipping. Car is sold as is.
