1986 535i Former daily driver. Transmission problem took it off the road.
Description
1986 BMW 535i...
Was my daily spring to fall driver for about a decade.
A few years ago, after putting it on the road in the spring, the transmission failed. The cooler in the radiator leaked and flooded the automatic transmission...something along those lines my mechanic says.
At any rate, it took it off the road. I had just had the driveshaft coupling (the guibo?) redone days prior as well as some front end bushing or other.
I believe I also have a second driveshaft for it I (i'll check).
So...it's being sold...it's been sitting a few years now...has some bumps and bruises and no doubt some mouse droppings by now. Will need to be put on a ramp truck at this point to be moved. Don't plan on driving it away. Will make a great parts car in my opinion. The hood got damaged the winter prior to it coming off the road...someone was moving snow with a tractor, scooping it with the bucket and scooped into the hood. I suppose, it could be resurrected but, it'll take some work...parts car is more likely scenario and there are a lot of great parts including another set of 14" bottlecap rims that I will include. The rims on it now are the 15" rims that I preferred. Tires are basically new but, it has been sitting. The color is sort of a blue/gray...comso bleu I believe it is listed as inside the engine compartment. The car has about 240K on it...the odometer states 238,242 as I recall, the odometer had just stopped working prior to transmission failure. Maybe a sign? The interior shows ago but isn't trashed by any means. She always ran great and was fun to drive in her day. I do not have a 'Title' in hand...I owned the car in NH and VT and neither state issues Title for cars this old.
Any questions or additional pictures, don't hesitate to ask.
