Description
This 735i is one of roughly 240 e32 7-Series BMWs brought into the county in 1988 with a manual transmission. 1988 was the last year a 7-Series was offered with a 5-Speed in the US market, and the first year for the e32 body, making this a pretty unusual car. It's black inside and out, and runs and drives like a well maintained 105k mile BMW should. The A/C is ice cold, and everything else works as well. There's NO rust, and no significant wear either. Just a nice, clean old BMW with the ultra reliable 3.5 liter 6 and no automatic transmission to ruin the party. The Racing Dynamics wheels pictured will be included, OR the car can be delivered with the Bayern multi-spoke wheels shown in the last picture. Buyer's choice.
More details for the truly interested:
The 7 was a one family car until a couple years ago.
In the last few years, but before I bought the car, it had a pretty comprehensive list of maintenance and small upgrades including a clear focus on addressing the standard e32/e34 issues:
New Headliner, New Washer Nozzles, Resolder LKM, New Instrument Cluster Caps, New Interstate Battery, Rebuilt Suspension - New Control Arms, Thrust Rods, Bushings, Idler Arm Bushing, Tie Rod Assemblies, and L & R Pitman Arms, New Window Switch, New Sword Control Switch, Dinan Stage 1 chip, Full Recharge R134a A/C, New Brake Accumulator, Valve adjustment, All fluids, and a New headlight assembly (because a lens had been broken by a stone).
Most recently, since I've started using the car daily and added approximately 20k miles in the last 8 months, I have had 4 or 5 dealer (or specialist) oil changes, an alignment, replaced the clutch master and slave cylinders, and the radiator and thermostat. The cooling system and hydraulic parts removed were original at 30 years old. I also installed a Pioneer stereo to gain Bluetooth connectivity and to match the dash better than the older aftermarket unit that was there.
The 735i has a clean CarFax, and has been in the Pacific northwest, Georgia and Carolina forever.
I have roughly $15k in her as she sits, but when I bought the 7, she was a "fourth car" for sunny days. She has now become a daily driver... so I'd rather find her a new home if a good one is available before I double the mileage on the odometer.
Obviously the car is not "perfect" but she's well preserved and equally well maintained. I drive the car 110 miles 4 days each week. I have also made separate road trips to DC, Baltimore, and Richmond all within the last 2 months, so I obviously trust the car, but no warranty is expressed or implied, and the car will be sold as and where is. The A/C compressor is slightly noisier than I would like, but seems quieter than it was 6 months ago. There's also a slight vibration in the driveline that I believe to be at least in part attributable to a small kick in the right rear wheel. It's pretty subtle, and basically only detectable in the ~48-58mph range, but if you're really sensitive to such things and still want a 30 year old car, you may want me to keep the RD wheels and reinstall the Beyern wheels for you. I'm fine with that if that's your preference. Please ask any and all questions. I'm very responsive, and as you can hopefully tell by the listing and my feedback, a pretty open and legitimate guy. You're more than welcome (encouraged) to come meet the car in person if you're able to do so. All but 2 of the attached pictures are from within the last couple months, and the parking lot shots are quite recent. Please enlarge the image of the right front in the parking lot to catch a light scuff on the bumper corner that isn't in the earlier pictures. The images of shift knob and the picture with the alternate set of wheels that were shot last fall. The current mileage is in the 103K range. Please expect the mileage to be closer to 105K when delivered. There is a $500 deposit due within 24 hours of a winning bid, or in order to use the Buy it Now option that can be paid through PayPal. The deposit is non-refundable. The balance in full is due within 7 days. The last few cars I've sold on eBay have all been paid for by wire transfer or in cash. If neither of those works for you, please reach out before pushing any buttons to discuss. If the payment is made other than face to face, once the car is paid in full, I will mail you the title. The BMW can remain here for up to a month if necessary to accomodate your pick up or shipping schedule. I can collect you from the Raleigh Airtport, Train Station, or Bus Depot if you come to pick the car up in person, or I can be available to meet a transport service of your contracting in the 27591/27576 area. Thank You for your time, and Best Regards! Rob.
