Up for sale is an original 1989 BMW 325is in excellent condition. The car is unmolested and unmodified! A rare and fine example of an eE30 that is a true survivor! This “is” model included leather Recaro seats, BBS wheels, rear deck spoiler, euro painted bumpers, front air dam & several other upgrades from the standard 325i.
I am a longtime BMW CCA member & I bought the car in 2012 & it has been my daily driver for the past 5 years. The car is a west coast car, has a clean AutoCheck/CarFAX. I have recently moved to Idaho so I am reluctantly selling the car to make room for something with AWD.
The car is straight & has no history of accidents, not even any minor fender/benders. The paint is in very good shape for a car this age but to be clear, this is not a show car, it has minor paint imperfections that you would expect from a car with 165k miles. (The odometer is original & working) The car has always been meticulously cared for and maintained by certified BMW mechanics & still gets 26 mpg from the inline six.
A “Service II” was recently performed & the M20 engine runs well and the automatic transmission shifts smoothly! The car handles well & runs/drives great. With the exception of normal required maintenance items, the car is all original with no modifications. The only thing added by the previous owner was a Kenwood CD player with USB input for iPod/MP3.
Service during the 5 years I have owned car includes:
The car will include 2 sets of wheels. The original stock BBS “Basketweave” wheels (including spare) as well as a set of BBS RS Chrome wheels (15” staggered 6-½ front with 195/50/15 & 7” rear with 205/50/15), see last photo for the car w/the BBS RS wheels.
Known issues - The sunroof operates both in the sliding & tilt modes but sometimes the tilt mode requires you to lightly push the roof up to tilt, it always closes properly. The rear defrost backlight does not light up (the bulb is burned out) but the rear defrost works perfectly. The tachometer occasionally/randomly goes to zero, when it does it has no affect on engine performance so it is a random sensor issue. I took the instrument cluster photo during idle to show that it does work. The Recaro passenger seat won’t tilt forward, the internal wire has come loose. When I bought the car, the driver door & passenger door are keyed differently.
I have the CLEAN title in hand and the car is currently in Idaho.
The car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. I am not desperate to sell the car & I have set a realistic reserve based on offers I have received recently. This is a private sale and the car is sold as is without any warranties stated or implied! Bid with confidence I have been an eBay member since 2000 & have 100% positive reviews.Shipping/delivery is the responsibility of the buyer & a $500 deposit is due via PayPal within 48 hours of close of auction.
