I believe I am the third owner, the first was a father who passed it on to his son. I bought it from the son who is an old college friend. I flew to Ohio to buy this particular car. I've owned the car for several years and I love it. The E30 was BMWs original "ultimate driving machine," a reputation it deserves. E30s are considered classicsthese days, but many are in use as daily drivers because they are so reliable, and so easy to live with. This car starts first time, every time, with no fuss. It shifts and drives beautifully. You can buy any part for this car, either new from Pelican Parts (plus others), or used from local enthusiasts or breakers. The fan base is very active. Once you own an E30 you are "in the club" and you'll find yourself meeting other like-minded E30 enthusiasts everywhere from Millenials, to guys in their 70s. It is eligible for classic car plates, and insurance through Grundy is about $175 per year.
I consider mine rare for it's 100% original (un-modified) condition. E30s are favorites of the tuners, and always have been. While I admire the workmanship and skill of the many gifted modifiers who have done incredibleengine swaps, and amazing suspension mods on their E30s, I have gone the other way, and chosen to keep this car bone stock. The next owner can keep it that way, or use it as a blank canvas for their unique form of E30 expression. Such is the beauty of E30 ownership.
I'm selling this car it because I have a Lotus Super Seven which needs attenton and I'd like to finish building that.
