Description

Found this low mileage beauty of European M635CSi sitting in the apartment garage of Lake view apartments next to lake Merced in San Francisco since 2002 after it was completely repainted by its previous owner.
When I bought it, there was lots of dust collected on it (pictures on my instagram). I took many pictures before I had the car towed to my place. After the full repaint, the trim was not put back on and everything was in the trunk. Before the car was purchased by me, an inventory of all items was taken and everything to complete the car seemed to be there.
After getting the car to my shop, gas tank was removed and replaced (with new tank) among with in tank fuel pump, sending unit, secondary fuel pump under the car and fuel filter. The fuel hose to the injector rail was disconnected, battery replaced with new proper size, connections cleaned, coolant flushed from radiator and block, oil primed to circulate in the engine by cranking the motor while main relay was removed, oil and filter was changed and vehicle started.
The engine runs smooth and sounds amazing. The car was last registered in 1999 up to August of 2000 as I have proof of registration showing registration fees paid, for 2001 and 2002 registration it shows the vehicle was registered as non-operation as for the 2 years it was being prepped and repainted until 2002 when it was done. Then it sat waiting to be put back together until I rescued it and brought it back to life.
It needs very little and the following items to be addressed in order to be a 100%
1) needs new tires as they are all flat spotted, all though they all hold air and not cracked2) needs front brake calipers, pads and rotors to be replaced as brakes work but engage very low3) needs small paint bubbles (as shown) addressed as the car sat in a foggy area of San Francisco4) front bumper chrome needs to be replaced or re-chromed5) needs center caps for the BBS wheels (as they were stolen while car was sitting)
All and all it’s a very nice car requiring about $7,000 to $10,000 if done by professionals or much less if one can handle it themselves in order to have a prestigious low mileage example of an early M635CSi.
These cars are becoming much harder to find and are becoming increasingly more valuable. They are commanding between $50K to north of $100K based on condition, mileage, color and many other factors and small details such as originality of the leather seats, patina and so on.
I contacted BMW archives and Ms. Julia Oberndörfer responded with the following email response:

The paint is in fantastic condition as it shines well and not dull. One may have a professional bodyshop fix the problem areas and paint it with an exact match, hen have the entire car water sanded and polished.
It has lots of potential and only needs light restoration.
I have done my part to make sure the engine ran smoothly, bring this BMW classic back to life, present it properly and turn it quickly so that is still affordable and attainable for an enthusiast to own it way below its market value.
I will post many more pictures on my Instagram @BMW_2002_specialist within the next 15 minutes of making this listing which will show photos from before (When I bought it), below the car (underneath) and after pictures (with all trim put back, interior shots and all problem areas, including showing paint imperfections)
Feel free to call me with your questions, my mobile is listed below.
Good luck,
