Description

PLEASE READ EVERYTHING CAREFULLY FROM TOP TO BOTTOM! WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE OR ACCOUNTABLE OR OFFER ANY REFUND IF YOU AS A POTENTIAL BUYER DO NOT READ EVERYTING REGARDING THIS CAR AND COME BACK AND SAY I DID NOT KNOW!

Knew this day would someday come but didn't think it would be so fast, especially since I put so much work and $$$ into fixing the car for another year. I have had this car for the last quarter century, during that time I have babied it and taken tremendous care of it, not winter driving and doing as much preventive maintenance as I could. I always changed the oil after 5,000 kms (3,000 miles) and always changed the timing belt (very important for this mode) always less than 50,000 kms. I have put a lot of money to keep it road worthy, including changing the transmission oil every 100,000 kms. Several years ago I noticed the back of the trunk and the drivers area were getting wet, I realized to my horror that even though I didn't winter drive it, rust came in and ate around the battery area in the trunk and behind the brake pedal. I took it to a guy who specializes in such work and after two new side panels and some welding he had welded a new piece of metal to cover the hole behind the pedal and also cut and installed new pieces of metal in the trunk by the gas tank. The result was a dry car that I could comfortably drive in the rain. There is some bubbling appearing on the paint after all these years which is normal and the usual bumps and scrapes including a bored out driver's key entry from someone who tried to steal the car. They must have put in a screw driver and turned the key to get it to open and got startled by someone, resulting in a busted up key entry and slight bending of the metal, see the picture. So if I love it so much why am I selling this beaut? Well I always said to myself once the transmission starts to go I will get rid of it, and so the transmission has started to act funny. Last week I put it in reverse and it wouldn't go, this has gotten worse and when driving the car it starts to push like a pig then sorts itself. Now maybe the fix is easy if you know what you are doing, but once a tranny starts to act funny you are talking about big repairs, in my opinion, and I am not willing to pay so much anymore. so it is time for someone else to enjoy it. It is a six cylinder with a 2.7 litre ETA engine that pushes out 127 horsepower, but it is torquey and purrs at 120kms. I never pushed it or abused so you can imagine my surprise and disappointment when the transmission started to go. I didn't expect it so soon as I rarely put more than 10,000 kms per year on the car. The buyer will come to my office, pay cash or paypal, sign all the documents i have handy, I will make copies and will pass the title over to new owner, I will make copies and take you, the owner, to the garage. The car ran last time, but when I took it on the street it started to push like a pig, I have no doubt the new owner can drive it out of my work garage but i do not recommend they drive it home, but rather make arrangements to tow it. Of course there is the possibility it won’t move at all, the responsibility to remove it rests with the new owner. Once it is sold, I will remove my window registration and my employee parking so the new owner cannot leave it in the garage. It is up to the owner to make the necessary arrangements to take it out of my work garage in the Bronx, NY

Other repairs I did; New wiring, rotors, brake pads, two new rear calipers, new oxygen sensor, new Bosch battery. The a/c has lost its oomph and will need to be emptied and reloaded with coolant for the summer. The radio works but not the cassette deck

There is no implied warranty of any kind the car is as is, THERE IS NO RETURN OR ANY WARRANTY IMPLIED, THE SALE IS FINAL, the engine works fine, starts beautifully and purrs, the transmission is the only damage to my knowledge that has afflicted this great car. I have a lot of the service bills but being the messy person I am I don’t have all of them. Please do not consider this a knock or some slyness on my part, I am honest and the car runs great. If you know about transmissions and can fix it you may have a steal on your hands. ONE MORE THING! The car came with me from Canada when I emigrated to the US, yes, I was really attached to it, the mileage is in KILOMETERS not miles. Clean title, car never wrecked just one slight ding caused by my sister who drove it at slow motion onto a park car.

No reserve auction, highest bidder takes it. I want to cry, I'm going to miss it. Cash or PayPal only, no checks.

Please ask any other questions.

I REALIZED I DID NOT INCLUDE A PHOTO OF THE DAMAGE TO THE KEY ENTRY CAUSED BY SOMEONE WHO TRIED TO STEAL IT SEVERAL YEARS AGO. I HAVE NOW POSTED ONE. WAS PLANNING ON REPAIRING IT IN THE SPRING AND STRAIGHTENING THE METAL BUT NOW IT APPEARS THE NEW OWNER CAN TAKE CARE OF THAT.
