Description

This is a well-maintained e30 convertible with a clean interior and reliable drive train. Passed state inspection in January and runs very strong. Dashboard and rear seats are in perfect shape (getting tough to find in an E30 these days).

It's not in perfect shape, but is mechanically sound and far less beat up than most of the e30s left out there.

Previous owner had the automatic transmission swapped for a used manual transmission at 105K miles (new clutch, slave and master cylinder, shifter, and transmission mounts). Swap included putting in a 3.73 differential.

Additional work done within the last 7K miles includes timing belt, engine oil pan gasket, new battery, camshaft seal & crankshaft front seal, hood strut, control arm bushings, new muffler, new throttle and parking break cables, and new alternator and power steering belts.

I also put new Altimax RT43 tires on less than 500 miles ago and had the sound system professionally rewired (new 4 channel amp with a 10” sub and Bluetooth CD-player).

Looks and drives great, but here what’ll need attention within the next year or two:-The convertible top motor was disconnected by the previous owner and I haven't touched it since it works fine as a manual top (the motor still releases and locks down the rear lid, but you have to open it by hand). New tension straps might fix it, but the interior of the top is starting to go and it'd probably best to consider a full replacement. Doesn't leak at all, so it's not a critical repair.-The driver's side seat has a crack on the bottom part, left side. Not noticeable while driving, but it's there.-There's a scratch on the driver's side door where the guy washing it lost control of the power wax buffer (at least that's what they told me when I picked it up from the car wash). I don't think it's down to the metal, but it's close and should be addressed before rust sets in.-I didn't replace the speakers, where are aftermarkets and 15 years old. Plays fine now, but at the very least the crossovers will need replacing (the sound is a bit off in cold weather).-The SRS light has come on several times, and each time the BMW specialist shop said the error code indicated low voltage. But the car has a new battery and their follow-up readings are fine, so they just reset it and send me on my way. I won't be surprised if it comes on again within the next few months.
