Description

My 1985 BMW 320i TC2 Baur # B 42676-13 is finished in Henna red over a black leather interior and is powered by a 2.0L inline-six paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. The car was built in September 1984 and imported to Knoxville, Tennessee in January 1987 with 29k miles. It was relocated in 1992 to Florida, where I purchased it just under three years ago. Maintenance in March 2019 included a valve adjustment and the replacement of the water pump, thermostat, belts, hoses, and more as described below. This E30 Baur TC2 is being offered with partial service records, an AutoCheck report, and aclean Florida title.
The Hennarot(052) paint and black retractable top are shown up close in gallery photographs. A trunk lid with rear spoiler from a 325is has been installed, and the model lettering has been deleted. The included AutoCheck reports aleft side impact with another vehicle in December 2013, resulting in minor damage. The rear plastic window needs to be polished out or replaced. The 14″ bottle cap wheels wear 195/60 Falken tires. Slimmer European-market bumpers are equipped, and retrofitted side markers can be seen front and rear.
The black leather interior features a wooden shift knob and grey carpets. Cracks are apparent on the driver’s seat along with tears in the leather. The dash also has a few cracks. The air conditioning system’s components from the firewall forward were removed by a previous owner.A map light rear view mirror is factory fitted, and the radio is not working. The instrument cluster has been replaced with a rebuilt VDO unit due to an inoperable temperature gauge. The replacement cluster currently indicates 134,447 miles, and the original cluster's mileage was 175,840 at the time of the swap. Both clusters are pictured. The 2.0L M20B20 inline-six features Bosch LE-Jetronic fuel injection and was factory-rated at 123 horsepower. A Getrag 240 5-speed manual transmission is equipped and recently received new shifter bushings.

The previous owner replaced the following service items a couple of months prior to me acquiring it: timing belt and upper housing seal, lower timing belt cover gasket, crank seal, cam seal and guides, intake manifold gaskets, valve cover gaskets, coolant expansion tank, spark plugs, distributor cap and rotor, ignition leads, fan clutch, radiator, fuel pump, fuel relay and sender, injector plugs and boots, hoses, vacuum lines, temperature sensors, thermostat housing gasket, and the transmission and differential fluids.Recent maintenance performed in March 2019 verified the prior work completed and included the following:

  • Water pump and hosesreplaced
  • Thermostat replaced
  • Injector connections repaired
  • Timing belt cover spring installed
  • New serpentine, fan, and alternator belts installed
  • Valves adjusted
  • Tune-up
  • Muffler replaced
Service records and receipts from the previous owner and myself are included. Videos of a cold and warm start can be seen below.
