1988 BWM 535is - Amazing car, moving, close to fully restored.
Description
Moving and must sell mid-way though renovating this 1988 535is. 5-speed, 153k mi.
This could be one of those perfect situations for someone who has been looking for an is and knows these cars. This car has been completely gone through I will list everything below. Included in the sale is over $3k of new parts including a excellent condition black dash.
Bought this car two years ago and the car died after a few weeks of driving it. The culprit was a crankshaft position sensor. Replaced both. Car runs, has a rough idle. I have done everything listed below and the car still has the rough idle. There are only a handful of things that can be causing it, most likely a ground (under passenger seat, or else where) it is not ignition, fuel, sensor related. Every part is brand new and has been replaced. No accidents. The paint was recently repolished and detailed, the PO sprayed a clear coat on it, which I polished down and looks great. It has been washed each week since I have moved to care for elderly family to the East Coast.
