1970 BMW 2000 for sale!
Description
This 1970 BMW 2000 Neue Klasse is finished in dark blue over a black vinyl interior and powered by a 2.0-liter inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transmission. Features include single-piece rectangular headlights, 14? bottlecap wheels, bumper-mounted front driving lights, and a roof rack. We acquired the car in 2017 and changed the fluids last year. This Neue Klasse is now offered with a clean Florida title. Designed by Wilhelm Hofmeister, the Neue Klasse was introduced in 1961 and was available in sedan and coupe body styles. This four-door example was finished in Atlantik blue from the factory and was reportedly repainted under prior ownership. Exterior equipment includes chrome bumpers with overriders, rectangular Euro-spec headlights, front driving lights, and a pair of Thule roof rails with wooden slats attached. Chips, scratches, paint cracks, and corrosion are noted throughout the body and are shown up close in the image gallery below. The 14? bottlecap wheels wear Douglas Xtra-Trac II tires showing 2015 date codes. The interior is trimmed in black vinyl with matching carpets and woodgrain accents on the dash and door panels. Appointments include a three-spoke steering wheel, crank windows, a Pioneer cassette radio, and a cabin heater. Several cracks are evident in the dash top, and the ignition tumbler has been relocated to the center stack. The instrument cluster has been replaced, including the 200-km/h speedometer. The five-digit odometer is inoperable and currently shows 21k kilometers (~13k miles), though actual mileage is unknown. The previously removed instrument cluster is included in the sale. The 2.0-liter inline-four has been fitted with a Weber carburetor and sends power to the rear wheels through a replacement five-speed manual transmission. The fluids were changed in 2019 by the selling dealer.
