It’s said that BMW owners are some of the most meticulous and caring car owners in the world…and this Karmann bodied example shows it!
The BMW New Six CS (internal name BMW E9) was a two-door coupe built for BMW by Karmann from 1968 to 1975. It was developed from the New Class- based BW 2000 CS coupe which was enlarged to hold the BMW m30 straight-6 engine used in the E3 sedan. The E9 platform, especially the 3.0 CSL homologation special, was very successful in racing, especially in European Touring Championship (ETCC) and the Deutsche Rennsport Meisterschaft (DRM). This helped to establish BMW’s status as a sporty driver’s car.
This rare Euro injected version of the e9 boasts a recent repaint by the previous owner in brilliant Artisblau metallic. A popular practice during it’s day was to remove front bumper and replace it with a CSL front air dam. Its in this case the previous owner has taken the extra step to beautifully mold the into the front valance Both paint and body are in fantastic condition.
The black leather interior was an excellent color selection for the Light blue metallic exterior paint color, thus making this beautiful CSi even more uncommon… and beautiful. Remaining mostly original, the carpet, headliner and upholstery are in good condition and very presentable with some minor signs of age. The dashboard appears to be mostly original along with the gauges.
Bosch D-jectronic fuel injected 3.0 m30 inline six cylinder engine mated to a Getrag 4-speed transmission, auxiliary gauges, air conditioning conversion, staggered 16 inch Alpina closed lug alloys, Schroth seat belts, Pioneer stereo with Alpine speakers, Momo three spoke steering wheel, power steering, windows and Coco floor mats,
Overall this BMW is an excellent testament to classic styling, build quality and diligent ownership, it would be a challenge to find a comparable model in this great of condition and originality.
Odometer currently reads 101,300 kilometers (62k in miles), which are original according to previous owner. Vehicle is sold as is and mileage exempt on clean clear title.
