Bugatti Stugatsi
Description
For your viewing and bidding pleasure is this excellent Bugatti replica. Its Vw powered and is built on a shortened Vw frame. The 1600 motor in this car runs excellent. NO leaks, NO somoke, starts with the first kick. And plenty of power.
I took a lot of time sorting out this car to make sure all details were correctly done.
The car sits on Model A wheels with spinners. I custom designed and built the front valence to accommodate the a hand crank starter, Marchal driving lights and the horn trumpets.
There are also remote controlled Bugatti projector lights on both sides of the car. There is also interior courtesy lighting inside the car. Its also controlled with a switch or key fob remote.
I found a rare vintage mascot "flying lady" to adorn the Model T dog bone radiator handle on the front of the car
I designed and had a shop custom build the exhaust header to look like it runs from front to the rear of the car. I happen to have a Clenet Roadster from which I copied the design.
This car is extremely fast due to its light weight. That, combined with its great looks, make every trip an adventure
The tail lights are new old stock from a early 60's Triumph Spitfire. The fender stand offs for the tail lights were custom made to accommodate the lights. They look amazing! BTW, there are no turn signals on the car. I chose to leave them off, and I resort to hand signaling if the local constabulary is around.
The exhaust header is NOT just bolted to to the side of the bonnet. Instead, it actually runs through the hood/ bonnet of the car, giving the appearance of actually being connected to an engine inside. Interesting historical note: True Bugattis of this era were 2 liter eight cylinder cars in a straight 8 configuration. I gave a lot of thought to making an eight cylinder header in a smaller diameter, but the large 4 cylinder looked a lot better to my eyeI tried to incorporate as much French detail on this Bugatti replica as possible. Since after all, Bugattis were made in France. To this end there are Marchal driving lights and Marchal like head lights. There is also a super rare1920's era French Saint Christophe badge on the dash above the ignition switch. Bugatti badges can be found on the dash and on the front of the radiator. Perhaps best of all is the caution /warning sign on the bonnet opening that reads:"DANGER: MADE IN FRANCE"
