1950 Buick Sedanette Special 2 Door Sedan Street Rod Custom No Reserve
Description
1950 Buick Sedanette Special. This car was all original when purchased and was completely disassembled. The original engine and transmission were removed and replaced with a 1984 Chevrolet 305 (unknown mileage) and has a 700R4 transmission (unknown mileage). The front subframe is suspension from a 1976 Pontiac Trans Am. The rearend is from a 1984 Chevrolet Caprice. It has true dual exhaust out to the rear bumper with Flowmaster mufflers. It now has power steering, power disc brakes on the front and drum brakes on the rear. The body of the car was fairly rust free. The titl steering column is from a Chevrolet van. The original floor boards were rusted through and was removed, new sheet metal floor was welded in. The windshield divider was removed and a new one piece windshield was installed. All the side flat glass was replaced with new tinted glass. The rear glass is still original. All the stainless trim is original. All the chrome is original also, none of it was rechromed. There are a few rust places on the rear bumper and on the corner of the front bumper. The grille bar teeth are all in good condition as well as the upper mustache bar. The windshield wipers are not wired up to operate, always used Rain-X on it instead. It has Haywire brand wiring harness. The headlights, brake lights, turn signals and dash lights all work properly. The map light on the dash also works. There was an aftermarket air conditioning system added and the unit is mounted under the dash which uses R-134 freon. It also has an older style heater mounted seperately under the right side of the dash. The heater blower motor started making a squalling noise, so my guess is the bearing in the blower motor went bad. Currently the blower motor is disconnected and will need replaced. It has a Pioneer CD player mounted in the glove box, Sony speakers in the doors and Sony speakers mounted in the rear package tray powered by a Sony amp. The front kick panels need to be replaced, but I still have the ones that were in it and they have the correct burgundy material on them. We found that after going to the car wash that water will pool into the door seal plates. The kick panel material used absorbed this and ruined them. If you look closely, the kick panels are not in the interior pictures. This is a car that was basically built and not bought. This is NOT a Barrett Jackson auction vehicle. It is a car that was built locally by my Dad with the help of friends along the way. When he decided to sell it 4 years ago and I bought it from him. There aren't any high tech electronics or suspension components. It does not take a laptop to tune the car, basically any auto parts store will have a part if needed. The car is not high performance, it is a good cruiser overall. You will get asked many questions about it and many thumbs up when driving it. It does have some chips in the paint and some scratches. The car was never wet sanded and buffed after it was painted. There are a few areas that paint has bubbled up at the rear trunk pan, behind the rear bumper. The car was completed about 6 years ago. It runs and drives out great. The front end does have 2" drop spindles and the front wheel will rub the inner fender when turning sharp. The trunk compartment has been finished out with black carpet. Also a spare tire cover and 50's style bumper jack cover was made in black material also. It is being listed with No Reserve. So if you have any questions or concerns, please ask prior to placing a bid. I personally own this vehicle and will answer all questions. Also included in the auction will be additional parts that have been saved for the car. They include an extra pair of Sedanette doors, hood, trunk lid, front fender, rear glass, bumpers, radiator and a few boxes of misc interior items.Put it on your watch list, as I will be adding some additional pictures of the interior and will post more details. Read all terms of payment options. The car will not be sold until all funds have cleared. $500 deposit through PayPal is required within 24 hours of the auction ending. Arrangements to see the car in person prior to bidding is welcomed. I value my 100% seller feedback and want the winning bidder to be satisfied overall winning this auction.
