1957 Buick Special 2 door
Description
Very nice 1957 Buick Special 2 door post, very solid running project. I bought this car as a project, but just do not have the time to work it.
This car is very straight and mostly complete, missing door panels and headliner. All chrome is on the car, rear bumper bullets are showing rust damage, but the rest of the chrome / stainless is servicable as driver quality. I have found no rust on the car, body panels look to be original and very solid. Previous owner had the floor pan replaced, very nicely done. One minor ding behind the driver headlight (see pics), and one scrape in front of the rear passenger wheelwell, other than these the car is exceptionally straight.
The headlights / taillights work, and the car starts, drives, and stops, although the brakes are a little soft. The car is running on a fuel cell installed in the trunk by a previous owner, and would need removed and a gas tank installed to be correct. Rear glass is all good (see pics), drivers door glass is cracked, windshield has a minor bullseye that looks like it can be repaired pretty easily.
The motor looks to have been rebuilt as some point, and runs well, although it doesn't like to idle when its cold. The interior needs carpet, door panels, and headliner, seats have been re-covered in a nice grey vinyl, very well done.
