Description

I purchased a small collection of antique automobiles from an Estate in West Virginia, with this 1940 Buick Special 5-Passenger Coupe being one of them. As you can see by my photos, this Buick has been properly stored indoors for nearly 40 years. The car appears to be complete with the exception of the spare tire & jack. The frame, body & floor pan are rock solid and all of the doors, hood, & trunk lid open & close correctly. All of the clear window glass is uncracked & original to the car. The cloth interior is all original and is not moth eaten or moldy and is still presentable. Someone years ago did put seat covers over the original seats, I did not remove them to see just how nice or how bad the original covers are. The dashboard is in nice original condition with the instrument gauges in good working condition. I changed all of the fluids, did a complete electrical tune-up, installed a new pair of battery cables and flushed out the radiator. I disconnected the fuel line at the fuel pump and attached an auxilary gas tank and the numbers matching Straight 8 Motor fired right up. It doesn't smoke, knock or leak fluids and the clutch engages nicely and the transmission shifts smoothly. The car rolls & steers easily but has no brakes. This Buick comes with a clean clear West Virginia Title. Please understand you are bidding to buy, not to be the first one to look. If you need to examine this Buick you are more than welcome and I recommend that you do so. I am not interested in any trades. I am sure you understand this "rare" barn find will make a wonderful restoration, resto-mod or clean & detail survivor project. Thank you for spending the time to look and good luck bidding!
