Description

Just out of 30+ years of storage is a complete 1938 Buick 8 model Series 40 Special (Trunkback) 4 dr (suicide type) sedan. This car was last registered in 1971. I have the clear CT. Title, original registration documents and plates that it was registered given when registered. The odometer shows 44k original miles.Has the original Dynaflash straight 8 cyl. (248 cu. in.) engine and 3 spd manual transmission on the floor. This Buick was factory equipped with a clock and heater. Has a factory roll up window blind on the rear deck. Also has the front and rear bumper guards.

The body is very solid for it’s age, no rust through holes. The undercarriage is very clean too. The metal work is all there, but obviously will need to be re-plated. YOU get it running and enjoy it! All I did was get it out of a deep hibernation, washed it, swapped out the heater hoses (had garden hoses hooked up), and put Mystery Oil in the cylinders to begin to lubricate the engine. It has NOT been started and it needs brake work. The emergency brake does works.

I have the following new parts that will come with the car:

Ignition Cap

Ignition condenser

Ignition point set

Distributor rotor

Ignition coil

Ignition wires

Spark plugs

New Battery

New glass for the front windshields and rear deck windows with gaskets.

Service manuals.

The interior is fairly complete, the door panels and headliner show wear and staining. The seats are covered and feel firm, I don’t want to take the old covers off and risk damaging the covers.

Has the original 16 inch rims with older tires that hold air (NOT roadworthy).

I have NOT tried to rotate or start the engine yet. I got the cara few months ago. Theold motor oil (looked normal not burnt and no debris) was drained and added 4 quarts of Non detergent 30 oil and 1 quart of Mystery Oil. Removed the antifreeze, swapped those 2 garden hoses and filled her up. I removed the spark plugs (without effort no rusty threads or badly burnt plugs) and added Mystery Oil to each cylinder. I tried to turn the crankshaft, but I couldn't get very good access to it due to the radiator being approx. an inch from that front crankshaft bolt and the weird positioning due to the exterior front end of the car and my fat body. I don't want to remove the radiator and have parts laying around the garage either. Old school guys are telling me to let it soak for a for a while continuously adding Mystery Oil and PB Blaster to the cylinders and then try to turn the flywheel. I purchased a flywheel turning tool a few weeks ago, but have NOT attempted to turn the flywheel yet. This is my first time dealing with a car that has been stored so long and I don't want to ruin anything by doing it half ass. Again, YOU get it running and do what you wish!

Basically you can restore it to factory specs, keep it as is, make it a hot rod, a gangster lowrider etc. The suicide doors, body styling and classy look make this a very desirable Buick. The fact that it was stored indoors for so long, the car being complete and that it comes with the documentation is a plus for any classic car. This 38 Buick is reasonably priced to sell quick, look around and see how uncommon they are and what they are selling for!

My vision was to keep the car original car, buy new wide whitewalls, add a front visor, add side skirts and new brakes.

Again notime to work on it or experience, so YOU get it running and enjoy it. I accept certified bank checks and cash! NO sales outside of the United States. The car is located in Michigan. Shipping is the buyer's responsibility, but I will make myself available to assist the transporter. I'm currently working with a very reasonable transporter, who doesn't play BS games. If you would like a quote just contact me and I'll forward you his information.
