Up for sale is my dad’s 1970 Buick Grand Sport. The car is a real Grand Sport and sometime in the past someone painted it up to look like a GSX.The car was purchased by my dad from Florida 15 years ago and brought to Ohio.I have done the majority of the work to the car and know it inside and out.I can field any questions about the car, but if you would like to speak to him directly, that can be arranged. Potential bidders are welcome to see the car in person. My name is Jeff and my phone number is 216-509-7586.
The Buick is in great shape and is rust free.It appears this car was always a nice, solid rust free car since there is no evidence of any repair work being done. The paint and body are a strong 9/10 and if parked in a car cruise, it would probably be in the top few cars on looks alone.
Where the car really stands out is how it drives.I have driven a good amount of older vehicles and this is by far the best. The engine has a very strong torque curve and the TH350 transmission shifts nice and firm. You could get in the car and hit the highway and go anywhere in it.
Since my dad’s ownership we have done a host of upgrades and have receipts for everything. The Buick has received a performance rebuild on the 350 and performance suspension upgrade. The list of parts are below.
Suspension:
Eibach 1-2” lowering springs
Helwig front and rear sway bar upgrade
4 new shocks
Replaced control arm bushings and ball joints
Engine: Complete engine and cylinder head overhaul.
Everything was purchased from TA performance or Summit Racing
TA10:1 cast piston/moly ring kit
TA hydraulic flat tappet cam (TA 290-94H-350)
TA dual plane intake manifold
Cylinder heads had larger Chevy valves installed, all new guides and valve seats re-cut
New pushrods and valve springs
Full length 1 5/8” headers
Holley 770 Avenger vacuum secondary carb
Crankshaft and connecting rods reconditioned
All new bearings, freeze plugs, head bolts, etc
The car has a few minor flaws. The windshield wipers worked up until last season and quit.We think it is the switch since everything was working fine, then they just stopped working. There is a small tear in the carpeting. There is also a minor engine oil leak coming from the front of the pan along with a small transmission oil leak coming from the pan.The AC the car came with is complete but has not worked on the car since my dad bought it.
Overall the car is in great condition and runs and drives excellent. The suspension has a great ride quality but is very stable and the engine produces a ton of torque right in the cruising range so it is really fun to drive.Come by and take a look for yourself and go for a spin.
Bidding info: All bidders without bidding history must contact me before bidding or their bid will be removed. The remaining balance must be either check, money order, or bank wire transfer. The car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early if sold.
