Description

1961 BUICK LESABRE

STATION WAGON

VERY RARE FIRE CHIEFS CAR!

17,300 MILES !

HELLORARE HOT STATION WAGONLOVERS,

THIS IS A VERY RARE BUICK LESABRE STATION WAGON. THE CAR WAS SPECIAL HEAVY DUTY 401 V8 ORDERED BY A SMALL HOME TOWN FIRE DEPARTMENT IN RURAL INDIANA IN EARLY 1961 AND WAS USED UNTIL 1979 FROM WHAT WE HAVE GATHERED. THIS WAS THE FIRE CHIEFS PERSONAL CAR ALWAYS INSIDE AND WELL CARED FOR. IT IS A FACTORY ORDERED WAGON WITH EVERY OPTION BUT POWER WINDOWS AND SEAT AND A/C. DUAL SPOTS ARE FACTORY AND THE ROOF RACK WAGON OPTION. IT WAS SOLD AT AN ESTATE SALE AFTER BEING RETIRED FORM THE FIRE STATION AND THE CAR WAS THEN MOVED INTO A STORAGE BARN IN THE EARLY EIGHTIES AND THERE IT SATUNTIL 2018. THE CAR WAS STILL INSIDE, BUT DIRT AND TIME CAUSED MOST OF ALL THE PATINA. THE STAINLESS IS GREAT ALL OVER, SIDE TRIM AND WINDOW TRIM, THE CLEAR GLASS INCLUDING THE FRONT WINDSHIELD IS ALL N GREAT SHAPE, THE CHROME IS GOOD AND SOME SPOTS HAS NOW STARTED TO PEEL DUE TO MOISTURE, BUT ARE GREAT DRIVER QUALITY CORES, IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND. WEATHER STRIPS ARE NICE IN PLACE, DOORS OPEN AND SHUT LIKE NEW. REAR GATE IS SOLID AND HAS EXTERIOR LIGHT SURFACE RUSTING FROM A TOUCH UPS WITH THE EXTERIOR PAINT ON THE OUTER GATE. THE REAR WINDOW OPERATES UP AND DOWN AND THE GATE IS FUNCTIONING OK.THE EXTERIOR PAINT IS ALL PATINA'D AND IS FURTHER BUFFABLE, BUT THIS CAR NEEDS A RE-PAINT OR A RAD NEW CLEARCOAT PATINA JOB! THE BODY IS VERY STRAIGHT! AS STRAIGHT YOU CAN POSSIBLY GET FOR A ORIGINAL UNRESTORED WAGON! MOSTLY ALL ORIGINAL PAINT WITH TOUCH UPS AS YOU CAN SEE IN FADING. THERE IS SOME RUST OUTS,JUST DUE TO THE AREA, BUT NOT BAD, ISOLATED IN SOME AREAS AS THE NORM, BUT NOT MUCH. MAIN FLOORS AND BRACES ARE GOOD AND SOME RUST IN CETER FLOOR AREA BUT MOSTLY ALL SAVEABLE AND SPOT JOBS NEEDED. DOOR SEAMS AND TAILGATE SEAMS ARE SOLID. SEALUNDERCOAT WAS APPLIED AT THE DEALERSHIP WHEN CAR WAS NEW AND STILL HOLDS STRONG FOR THE MOSTPART ON THE UNDERCARRIAGE.THE INTEROR DOOR PANELS ARE IN GREAT SHAPE FOR THE AGE, DOOR JAMS ARE NICE CLEAN WITH ORIGINAL PAINT,THE INTERIOR DRIVERS DOOR PANEL BOTTOM HASTHE MOST WEAR. RED DASH PADDED TOP IS PRETTY GOOD FOR AGE, BUT HAS A CRACK OR TWO. THE WINDOW FUZZYS ARE NICE. HAD A RADIO DELETE PLATE WHICH IS RARE FOR THIS MODLE, DUE TO A FIRE CHIEFS CAR ONLY ALLOWED POLICE RADIO, WE STILL HAVE THE ORIGINAL ERA MOTOROLA SPEAKER BOX IF RESTORING BACK TO THE FIRE CHIEFS CAR AS A ORIGINAL? THE CAR CAME WITH A RARE LARGE ALTERNATOR FOR ALL THE LIGHT EQUIPMENT OF THE ERA. ODD LOOKING STUFF UNDER THE HOOD! DUAL RELAYS ETC. TWO HOLES ON TOP OF CAR FOR LIGHTS THE SIZE OF ADIME COIN. WIRING LOOKS OK INSIDE THE CAR, SPOT LIGHTS BOTH STILL WORK AND DASH LIGHTS ETC. THE CAR COULD BE A LOADED REGUALR RARE RED '61 WAGON, OR GO WITH THE FIRE CAPTIAN THEME UPGRADES. THE BIG WILDCAT BUICK401 V8 4 BARREL DUAL EXHAUST MOTOR WILL NEED COMPLETLY REBUILT AND YOU WILL ONLY MOST LIKELY NEED A HEAVY DUTY RADIATOR AND FAN WITH SHROUD. EVERYTHING ELSE LOOKS GOOD, THE CAR IS MISSING NOTHING ORIGINAL. THE ONLY REASON IT WAS TAKEN OFF THE ROAD WAS THE BIG RADIATOR HAD A LEAK FROM SITTING AND WAS NEVER REPLACED OR RETURNED FROM THE LOCAL REPAIR SHOP. THUS THE CAR SAT FOR 40 YEARS AS-IS! THE FRONT DRIVERS SEAT IS MISSING SOME STUFFING FROM A CRITTER BUT MOST OF THE SEATS ARE STILL VERY GOOD FOR AGE. SOME DOCS ON LOW MILEAGE AND OLD SALE IN INDIANA. OLD TITLE SHOWS 17,300 MILES ALSO WHEN SOLD IN 1981.TITLE IS FREE AND CLEAR. TIRES ARE VERY GOOD AND NEWER OLD STYLE BIAS BUT GREAT TREAD AND NOT DRY OR HARD. RIMS ARE REAL TRUE SPOKE CHROME WHEELS, THESEALONE ARE $2,000. THESE WAGON UNITS ARE GETTING VERY RARE AND IN THIS TYPE SHAPE VERY VERY HARD TO FIND. PLEASE ASK ANY AND ALL QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING AND WE CAN ASSIST YOU IN LOADING HERE AND WITH SOME CONECTIONS IN SHIPPING. PLEASE ALSO SEE OUR OTHER QUALITY UNITS UP FOR SALE RIGHT NOW. ALL PRICED VERY FAIR!
