Up for sale we have a 1972 Buick Riviera "Boat Tail" These 71-73 Riviera's were referred to as the "Boat Tail" for the shape of the top and trunk. They had a very distinct look that was matched by no other. The one we have for you is all stock except for the stance and wheel package. In the paragraphs to follow we will give a brief description of the exterior, interior, and driveline of the Buick, but first we would like to tell you a little about us.
Smoky Mountain Traders is a classic car dealer in east Tennessee. We are family owned, operated, and own our entire inventory, no consignments, and only deal in muscle cars and vintage auto. You can count on us to have 70 to 80 cars at all times. We don't have a big show room that our customers would otherwise pay for. So, that's how we can sell for less than other dealers. We will start off with the exterior of the Riviera. The body is solid with great lines and is covered in the Sierra Tan that looks good with a nice shine. Inside the jams and in the trunk the paint looks factory. The fit of the panel is good with good gaps. When you look at the glass it all shows very well. The bumpers all appear factory but do show well as does the rest of the chrome. The weather stripping looks good, but is not new. This Buick has the vinyl top that is in good shape and one in the Dark Brown to accent the Sierra tan. To finish off the look this Buick is sitting on a set of 20" American Racing Wheels with New Tires.
Next, we will take a look at the interior of the '72. On the inside it's as it would have come when new featuring the 60/40 bench seats. It's all done in Brown Vinyl and Cloth. The seats are vinyl with the cloth inserts. The carpet and headliner look very good as does the door panels with some wear on the driver's door panel. This Riviera has Power Windows that are working. When you look at the dash it's all correct with a good dash pad along with the factory AM/FM Radio.
Finally, we will look at the drivetrain of the Buick. Under the hood it's all stock with the 455 V8. The engine is mated to the 400 Turbo Trans. It's been dressed with the stock valve covers and breather. This Riviera has Power Steering, Power Disc Brakes, and Air Condition. When you look under the floors pans look great along with frame showing no visible signs of damage.
