Description

24,287 original miles! California rust free car. Outstanding survivor. Judged by Buick Club of America as Elite Archival in 2015. Only lost 15 points out of 400! We have the judging sheet and award. Also documented by Sloan Museum using Buick's microfilm. The car was sold new at Harvey Tyrell Buick in North Hollywood CA. EXTERIOR: Original rust free metal, confirmed by the judge's sheet. It is laser straight with outstanding fit. The bottom of both quarter panels still have... the factory spotwelds, that's like finding a unicorn! All the panels are square and flush. Doors shut with ease, even with the windows up. It is a factory Matador red with a rare painted white roof. It's had a high quality, 1 time exterior repaint. Smooth glossy finish. Chrome and trim are original and are straight and shiney. The bumpers fit the body really well. Original glass including windshield and it's all very clear. Windows roll up and down like new. It has all four original T-3 headlights. The original 15 inch chrome Buick mags still look great. BFG tires look newer. Jambs are original. Driver door has original vin decal and an old oil change sticker. The front license plate is like old car gold. The original California plate with renewal stickers stacked up until 2009! INTERIOR: Very impressive. The upholstery and door panels are in mint condition. The dash area is extra clean. All the chrome plastic trim still sparkles, lenses are clear. Nothing is worn, the kick panels, shift knob, turnsignal lever, vents; even the ashtray and cigarette lighter look like they have never been used. Nothing is cracked, broken or cut. Under the dash is all tidy, vent hoses, wiring look factory. In the glovebox is mint, light works. Has optional deluxe wheel and Am-Fm radio. As I expected, the radio plays clearly, even the front to back control works. All the interior lights work. Headliner, visors and mirror are mint. Even the carpet is believed to be original and in great shape. ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Original #s match 455 ram air engine. Very clean original condition. All the components look proper and original other then a new power brake booster and master. The air cleaner is complete with heat riser and hoses. The fan shroud has the little bracket to hold the upper hose. Pollution canister, washer bottle, overflow bottle are still hooked up. Factory air conditioning was updated with R134 freon and blows cold. The battery a Delco topper and spring clamp battery cables. Runs strong, known as the torque monster with 510ft lbs! TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Rare, original factory spatter finish paint is still excellent. Under the mat had a light dusting of paint to freshen it up. Perfectly clean original metal. The spare is one of the original G60 Polyglass tires on the original GS mag. Has complete jack assembly. The seams in the jamb are spotless. UNDERSIDE: If you are knowledgeable about cars you will be very impressed with how the bottom of this car is. It is not restored are dressed up to look pretty. It is extremely well preserved. There are still several assembly line paint markings throughout the chassis. The floors still have the red body overspray from the factory. The drain plugs are still raw galvanized metal and the factory caulk is still raw, never painted over. The Turbo 400 trans is vin # matched to the car and has original BA tag. Has original rear end. It also has optional disc brakes in front and Rallye suspension which includes sway bars, boxed rear control arms, HD springs. Dual exhaust and shocks are new. You can sometimes find grandma's grocery getter with unabused low miles. Finding a top dog muscle that has been hardly driven and pampered is a rarity. The 1970 is the most desirable year for the GS because it was at the peak of power. After inspecting this car I'm pretty excited. The more you know cars, the more you will like this one! Whether you are a serious investor, a collector or just want a really nice muscle car, this one will more then satisfy.
