1964 Buick Le Sabre — Running smoothly and ready to go

Purchased the vehicle from the second owner of the car back in 2005. Has been the family emblem ever since. Very hard to let go, but realize it may become the same for a hobbiest, collector, or road-tripper. My wife says that her favorite thing about the car is the kind of people and compliments it fetches. We call it a "good will machine" because people seem so happy to see it and so eager to talk about it. Nobody cares about our newer cars, but the beloved Buick, they cross the street to smile and say something. We're gonna miss that. Have just had the car gone over by our trusty mechanic. Put nearly a thousand dollars worth of updates and refreshes, including FOUR NEW TIRES, New ALTERNATOR, checked points and plugs, new wiring here and there, all drum BRAKES CLEAN and TIGHT. Car is purring and ready to be opened up. Original engine—8 cylinder, 5.7 liter, 350 Nailhead with 117,000 miles. The driver-side rear quarter panel has attracted all the dents, dings, and minor edge-rust, so will localize any desire for restoration. The rest of the body is clean, shiny, and ready to show off. Bumper chrome is in exceptional shape. All original carpeting. Interior is all original with wear-and-tear as expected in heavier-use spots (e.g., small tear in driveside seat; sun-damage-caused tear on the top of the rear-back seat). The car came with lap seatbelts (two in front; two in back), so we added a middle seatbelt in the front and rear. Now, lap belts for six. Car is currently with our mechanic, who has it running smoothly. You can visit the car at his shop. Please note: bidders with fewer than five positive points of feedback will be canceled.
