Buick Special sedan
Description
A drivable dream looking for an owner who wants originality but doesn't want to pay concours prices. This 1955 Buick has its original 264 and Dynaflow transmission. Smooth starting and driving. This car probably has spent its life on the East coast having been sold from a dealer in Baltimore. It has survived the years with a solid frame and body. The oil change stickers on the driver door suggest that the 52k mileage is right.
It now sports new Coker tires, a brake master cylinder that was converted to dual-master this year for driving safety, and newly-installed front safety belts.
Is the car completely perfect? No it's not. Paint looks to be original so it has some patina that makes it more appealing. Speedometer is intermittent. The clock needs to be repaired and the seat upholstery has custom covers to forestall a major expense of re-upholstering with original cloth.
It's a survivor, plain and simple. There's probably no better way to go back in time to 1955 with an affordable classic that you can drive as is.
