Description

Listed is a 1963 Buick Riviera in mostly original condition. This car was purchased by my father in the 80's has been a reliable car that has been stored inside for that last 30 years plus. After he passed away 20 years ago I have owned the car with the exception of about 4 years were it was purchased by a familyfriend.I re-purchased the car about 3 years ago.
This is anextremely early production car with the FB #363.It has the painted silver dash and 120MPH speedo and firewall painted body color. The spare tire is mounted right side of trunk.Has some nice options like long horns, cruise control and air conditioning, power windows, power antenna, power trunk releas, turbine wheel covers with spinners and cornering lights.I have not used the ac or the cruise so I don't know if they work,Iwould assume not.
The exterior was repainted before my father purchased it in the same silver color,so it was repainted I'm guessing about 40 years ago.The paint is checked and there are a few nicks and dings in the car.The chrome is in nice driver condition, stainless too but has some minor dings here and there. There doesn't appear to be any body repair that I can see under the old paint. The car is as solid as they come, car was originally purchased new in Texas and that is where my father purchased it from.
The interior is black deluxe interior. The front seat covers were replaced in vinyl before purchased by my father 30 some years ago but the rear seat is the original leather.Windows work fin, could use new window seals. The glass is tinted and very nice. The dash pad is very nice.Carpet has wear but not bad.Wood on the door panels shows patina.
Mechanically the car always starts and runs well. When sitting long periods of time some minor lifter noise until warmed up.The transmission works great. There is slight clunk when put into gear which could indicate u joint service is needed.Car needs aligned, pulls to the right.Brakes were converted to dual master cylinder by my friend when he owned it and work great. There is a leak from the water manifold that weeps when car is not in use.The car had small trans leak from tail shaft that comes and goes. The car needs transversemuffler installed (small exhaust leak) which will be included with the car.Tires have good tread butare older tires.
To sum up this car it has been a great. It is by no means a show car but is a nice example of a car that has been enjoyed and maintained for 53 years. Now it is time to find a new home.
