Description

The 1957 Buick Caballero was already a specialty-built wagon, and so it's the perfect start for a custom cruiser build. Not only is the paint package striking, but also you're going to love all the details, including a custom leather interior and air conditioning.

The Caballero was special for a design with no b-pillar. It lets you roll down all the windows and have the same open look as a cool-cruising hardtop sedan. These were available for a short time, and its unique body was built outside of Buick's normal channels. So this is already a rare treat to see even before people pour over the full custom package. The paint is an exceptional choice because a metallic maroon is usually done for a big and bright look, but this goes for added attention with its matte finish. The high gloss is saved for the Firemist Red on the roof. This one was built to have more of a street machine attitude, so the paint seems to be specifically going for more of a hot rod vibe and less about a concourse lawn. And you understand that all around this Buick with the halo headlights, shaved door handles, and 18-inch Ridler alloys on a lowered suspension. But they also made sure to keep the brightwork looking its best, too. The big grille looks like a 10,000-watt smile, and the bumpers are large, proud, and gleaming. Plus, we could call the unique profile a "triple-dip Buick," because the unique hardtop is showcased by the beautiful slope seen in the roofline, doorline, and side trim.

Because the pillarless design makes sneaking a peek at the interior much easier, you'll love how inviting the whole custom setup is. The seats are true masterpieces done in leather. The brown with wave-pattern maroon inserts look amazing, and in the center of each one is a custom embroidered Caballero logo. Even the dash, headliner, and all four doors were done to match. You'll love the extra details, too, like the glossy wood-like trim across the dash and plush maroon carpeting. The steering wheel is purely built for elegance with a full chrome trim ring and Buick crest in the center. Everything from the speedometer to the heat/defrost controls feel like part of a thoughtful layout. There was a big investment in this custom car, and we even have over $16k in receipts from the last few years. And while they were working on this wagon, they also gave it some great upgrades. The radio is a retro-style AM/FM unit that features Bluetooth and speakers in the rear tailgate. And the cold-blowing air conditioning means it's easy to roll down all the windows on this unique Buick even in the summertime.

1957 was also a great year because it was the debut of an updated and larger 364 cubic-inch Nailhead V8 motor. The lightweight design, big torque, and hardy construction make these legendary powerplants. It's pleasantly surprising to see such a stock look to the V8 in such a custom car. It's crisp, clean, and classic. We know they did this on purpose because a motor rebuild is part of the receipt file. It fires up readily, the dual exhaust makes a mellow rumble, and the two-speed Dynaflow automatic transmission makes sure you get a Buick-level smoothness. Add in power steering, power brakes, and modern tires, and you've got a something that you'll love driving to all the shows near or far.

What was once a rare premium wagon is now an even more unique street machine. And they even kept the right luxuries, too. You know this is an amazing build you can't let get away. Call today!!!
