Buick mild custom cruiser 1955
Description
This is a 1955 Buick customized in 1999 and now has about 35,000 miles on it since the build. The actual miles driven is unknown, but the odometer reads 75443. All the chrome and bright work was done during the build. All the running gear was new or rebuilt and all glass but the rear window was replaced. This is not a perfect car and is now showing it's age. There are a couple areas of concern that is shown in 4 of the pictures. The areas would be (1) the driver side seat back, (2) the driver side rocker panel just ahead of the rear tire (3) the passenger side door bottom next to the door seal and (4) the passenger side rear seat window at the very top of the fender. The driver side quarter panel has some bondo. Any replacement panel would probably be in worse condition since fresh parts are not available. However, it is a nice car that shows pretty well and a great Saturday night cruiser. It runs well and very stable on highways. Itwillget you where you want to go. The engine compartment has a Buick 425 c.i. nailhead engine out of a 1964 Riviera with twin 600 c.f.m. Edlebroke carburetors on an original Buick dual quad intake manifold, Kenne Belle C118 hydraulic camshaft and valve springs, Pertronix magnetic pickup distributor, GM th400 transmission with switch pitch converter out of a 1966 Buick Wildcat, exhaust headers, CS 130 style 100 amp alternator, MSD 6AL ignition, electric wiper motor, power rack and pinion steering, Old Air Products A.C. with electronic heater control and a shaved fire wall. The suspension is air springs withPower4 wheel disk brakes front and rear, MII style front suspension "k" member with 2" drop spindles, triangulated 4 bar rear suspension with a 9" ford rear axle and a 3.50 gear ratio open carrier. The air ride suspension is controlled by a programable digital control box under the dash and has 3 presets for whatever ride heights you choose at the push of a button. The exhaust system is 2.5" twin pipes and turbo mufflers with chrome tips at the rear bumper. The exterior custom work includes shaved door handles with remote door poppers, Power Radio Antenna, shaved hood and trunk lid, shaved gas door, shaved bumper bolts and painted Dupont urethane commercial yellow and white clear coat. The interior is done in two tone gray vinyl tuck and roll with a Kenwood radio and cd changer operated from the radio face, It also has a 1976 Chevy van steering column with a column shifter and Grant steering wheel. All the gauges are original and theywork. The power brake booster, air suspension, gas filler, cd changer and battery are all located in the trunk. The trunk interior is not finished. Things that don't work, back up lights, dome light, license plate light, parking brake. Glove box is removed due to clearance problems with AC installation.
