1948 Buick Super Touring Sedan
Located near PORTLAND, OREGON.
This beautiful 1948 Buick received a comprehensive restoration approximately 10 years ago and has been beautifully maintained since. The body is straight with no rust or rot. It was stripped and painted in black, with a deep glossy shine. All chrome (including the massive grille) was re-plated and trim polished. Simply gorgeous.
The interior was reupholstered in gray with Bedford Cord seat surfaces. Gray carpet. Gray headliner. All interior trim was refinished in deep gray and chrome. Dashboard and moldings refinished. All gauges refinished and function. Radio, clock and wipers are present but not working at the moment. Polished door sill plates. Doors hang straight and smooth with excellent fit. New rubber seals. Excellent glass throughout. Working interior courtesy lights on the lower seat edges, plus outside dual fog lights, working dual back-up lights and turn signals. Restored trunk with radial spare tire plus restored jack with bag.
Mechanically, this "Super" is Super! Rebuilt 248 cubic inch "Fireball" straight 8 runs smooth and strong. Rated at 115 HP. While most '48 Buicks carried the new Dynaflow automatic transmission, this car is one of the few equipped with the 3 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION. It has great "get-up-and-go" compared to the usual acceleration of the early slushy Dynaflow. This car is a real pleasure to drive. Shifts crisply. It gets off the line quickly and easily keeps up with modern highway traffic. 15" Coker wide whitewall radial tires all around give this Buick great handling on the road.
Overall, this is a great package: A well restored Buick that presents nicely for show and is mechanically restored and sorted for touring. Truly "show or go!" It certainly could not be restored to this level for the reserve asking price. WE WILL HAPPILY SELL TO BIDDERS, WORLDWIDE. Thanks for looking and GOOD LUCK!
