1961 cadillac air ride "bagged" kustom lowrider rat rod no reserve
Description
i bought this cadillac about 4 years ago from an old man. it was registered and on the road as a daily driver. i wanted to build a cool lowrider so i pulled it off the road and had someone bag it. it was an award winning custom fab shop at a total cost of 4500 parts and labor. the craftsmanship is impeccable and each wheel is able the be controlled individually and was set up that in case a bag blows you wont thrash that irreplaceable rear quarter panel but go as low as possible...it lays in the weeds, . i then gave a bodyguy a pickup truck to redo the body and paint it.....and it sat.....and sat....until i finally gave up and took it back after it sat for about 1.5 years. it fired right up drove it around a bunch and parked it in my driveway where i honestly only started it and drove it around every six months around the block for the next 2.5 years because had licensing issues. A few months ago i moved and i hopped into it and it didnt run as smooth as it always did, the carb needed rebuilt plus the gas was probably a bit old but i tended the throttle and went to drive it to my new house and it drove about 2-3 miles and it just lost power....engine still ran but but has no power. so i had it towed to a mechanic shop and they didnt want to bother with a car this olds and now it sits at his shop and i dont have room at the new house because my landord doesnt like the cars i have so i have to sell it because i have no room here and im not paying to store it any longer. the mechanic will help it get loaded on a trailer for shipping. i dont know whats wrong but it feels like the torque converter isnt working or its stuck in neutral or something. i know zilch about transmissions so its sold as is.theres a bunch of newer stuff i have for it like:-cadillac wire wheels and tires cost me 2k (i have all the center caps but they are in the trunk so they dont get stolen)- some of the bumper parts are newer as well at a cost of $600-have a completer 67 thunderbird interior 2 bucket seats ( one isnt installed but is in the caddy now) and the back seat plus the console and package tray cost $750-new carpet kit not installed and dash mat cost $300-new windshield gasket
it is complete as far as i can tell i sourced all the trim for it and its included, door panels and all switches are in there and all the windows work. the only thing i can think of that didnt work (except the transmission) last i used it was the air ride compressor, dont know if it blew a fuse or what but i hooked up an compression fitting and aired it up with the shop compressor. i have a ton invested (well over 10k )in this guy but i just dont have the time to finish it and im tired of kidding myself that "one day" ill get it done. my loss is your gain. will take a harley big twin in trade possibly.
