1939 Cadillac Lasalle

1939 Cadillac LaSalle. Clear Indiana Title.This car was purchased in California sometime in the late 70s. The man that purchased the car was in the Navy stationed in Californiaduring Korea and Vietnam. He purchased the car had it tore down and repainted. That's as much work that was done and the car sat in storagein California until 2005. In 2005 he had the car shipped to Indiana and the car sat in his garage until March of 2017 when we purchased it. I had the car shipped to my house in Indianapolis. I installed a rebuilt water pump. New belt, points, coil, plugs, wires andelectric fuel pump and a new muffler. Cleaned out the fuel tank and sent the Carb out to be rebuilt. The car runs great. The car does run drive and stop. The master cylinder is a little weak and probably should be replaced. We spent a lot of time wet sanding and buffing the car. The paint keep in mind isaround32 years old. There are scratches paint chips and imperfections but still shines up really well as you can see in the pictures. When we found the car all of the parts were wrapped in news paper from the mid 80s. That's when I think the car was repainted. The tires are new from the 80s and really have no miles on them. I have drove the car around my property that's all. The clutch is good and it shifts through the gears just fine. The car will need wired for lights looks like that was all removed. There is no interior except for a back seat. The family did not know what happened to the front seat. As you can see in the pictures all the chrome and interior trim is still wrapped in newspaper like we found it. The only thing I know that is missing besides the front seatis 1 of the door handles. I am 99% sure the rest of the chrome and trim is wrapped in newspaper. The rear quarters are just loosely bolted on. There is new vinyl fender welting inside the car that we did not put on. There is some surface rust around the rear window and a couple of spots around the front windshield. I tried to get pictures of the 2 worst spots of rust on the car. There is one spot on the drivers side right behind the passenger door down low. Also the rockers on the underneath side thereare a few places but nothing extremely major. The trunk is solid as well as all the bottoms of the doors. The floor in the car is solid as well. I am glad the car came from California and not Indiana!!!
