Description

1962 Cadillac Fleetwood

Who doesn’t love a Cadillac with red leather interior and glossy metallic red paint?

This car has been in our family since 2006. It was purchased at an estate sale from a prominent family in Salt Lake City, Utah. It is obvious that this car has always been garaged its whole life. This is a very solid original car!

It has the original 390 engine and automatic transmission with 68,137 original miles. It starts easily and runs well. The transmission shifts as it should. This vehicle has passed Utah state safety inspection every year with ease. I personally would feel comfortable driving this car several hundred miles without questioning it. I doesn’t have any major leaks, but hey, it is an old car, it will drip fluids here and there when parked but nothing to be concerned with. I had the heater and A/C working a few years ago but haven't needed to use it in a while so don't know if it is currently functioning.

This Fleetwood has its original red leather interior. The seats are in great shape for their age. The front passenger side seat bottom has some seam separation on the front seat in two places in the leather, see picture. The carpet, dash, headliner and door panels are original to the car as and show minimal wear. The wood veneer on the door panels is in decent shape but does show some sun damage. The four side windows go up and down but the power wing windows do not operate. Most of the power options work but don’t be surprised if something doesn’t work.

The body is solid on this big car. The doors open and shut like they should. Nothing like the sound of a solid old car’s heavy door. It has been repainted with a close to original metallic red color and a high gloss clear coat about 10 years ago and it still shines great. It wasn’t taken completely a part when painted. Doors, hood, fenders, trunk, bumpers, etc were left on the car. The body is not straight as an arrow, it has a few dings on the front fenders that are noticeable but not detrimental to the appearance of the car. The paint is chipped on the front of the hood from normal use. All in all, the paint looks nice and presentable, just has some imperfections here and there. Chrome and stainless is in original condition and still looks good. Front and rear bumpers do have some dings in them but nothing major. The left side marker lens is broken.

The radio in the dash does not work, however, a CD player has been installed under the dash with an aux port. No holes where cut into the dash for the radio or speakers. It can be removed with ease and put back to original if you didn’t want the tunes.

The bias ply, white wall tires were new 10 years ago and do not show much wear. The original color matching hub caps are in great shape.

This Fleetwood is an honest original car. I have taken it to local cruise nights and car shows and have had a blast cruising in it. It is in better shape than just a driver but is in no way perfect. It gets thumbs up and waves every place it goes. I have the clean and clear title in hand.
