1911 Cadillac Model 30 Touring Car
Description
Up for auction is my beloved 1911 Cadillac Model 30 Touring car, which was likely restored in the 1960`s. Unlike today, it was still commonplace to find good, solid examples of brass era cars during these early years of the hobby, and this one was an excellent example. It has all its original components, right down to the carburetor and ignition systems, Cadillac script lamps and clock, Jones speedometer, and Delco ignition switch. This was a very original and complete car to begin with, as everything is still present from the factory build sheet, which I have a copy of. The ONLY modification from stock was the addition of an electric starter, also done back in the day. This Touring model was the most expensive offered for 1911, if I recall correctly it was near $2500, same as the average price for a house back then. Overall condition is very solid, it has a wooden body, leather interior and canvas top with boot. It obviously had a re-paint, new upholstery and top when it was restored. The mechanical components were rebuilt as well, it starts immediately, runs strong (283 Cu In engine) steers and shifts easily, and stops well, without a lot of pedal pressure. It is very comfortable to sit and ride in for hours, it doesn't wear you out as so many cars from this era can. It truly was "The Standard of the World" as it says on the hubcaps. I do have a complete set of extra drivetrain components, available at extra cost if desired. My cell phone is (805) 674-9225 PDT, call if you have any questions Health issues forces this sale, otherwise I would not be letting it go. Thanx for looking and happy bidding.
